There wasn\u2019t a lot of movement in the NBA futures odds over the last week. The Los Angeles Lakers aren\u2019t as big of favorites<\/a> as they were in the Western Conference at the start of the season, and the Miami Heat are looking like a stronger contender in the East. The Brooklyn Nets are still the team to beat though even though they are 2-3 and still don\u2019t have Kyrie Irving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Brooklyn Nets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +260<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +250<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Durant has said the obvious about the Nets missing Irving, but Brooklyn is also hurting because of the emphasis on referees not calling fouls when players look for contact. That has hurt James Harden more than any other player, as he is no longer getting to the free throw line with the same regularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Los Angeles Lakers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +500<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +385<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s usually not wise to push the panic button this early, but it\u2019s more than acceptable for the Lakers. Los Angeles is 2-3 and looks like a flawed team. The Lakers currently have the worst defense in the NBA, and that might be a recurring problem throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Milwaukee Bucks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +800<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +750<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milwaukee is not getting the respect it deserves<\/a> as the defending NBA champion. The Bucks were blasted by Miami in their second game, but they showed they could beat the healthy Nets in their season opener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Golden State Warriors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +850<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +900<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors are going to be a real contender when Klay Thompson comes back. Golden State is one of three unbeaten teams in the NBA, and Thompson will give this team another dynamic upon his return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Utah Jazz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +1200<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +1400<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Utah is one of the other currently undefeated teams. The Jazz have the best defense in the Western Conference, and that shouldn\u2019t be a surprise with Rudy Gobert at the center of it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Miami Heat<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +1400<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +2500<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a 3-1 start that included wins over Milwaukee and Brooklyn, Miami is obviously the real deal. The Heat are looking like the team that made the 2020 NBA Finals once more, and that has led to their odds dropping precipitously<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Phoenix Suns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +1600 (No Change)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reigning Western Conference champions are 1-3 to start the season. They beat the Lakers, but they lost to the Nuggets, Trail Blazers, and Kings. Phoenix has yet to see its odds change though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Los Angeles Clippers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +2000 (No Change)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We might see the Clippers\u2019 odds shift downwards soon. They are off to a 1-3 start and are really struggling without Kawhi Leonard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Denver Nuggets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +2200<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +2000<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Denver might have the best value<\/a> on the board right now. Jamal Murray looks like his old self, and reigning league MVP Nikola Jokic is playing at a high level despite a 2-2 start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10. Philadelphia 76ers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +2200<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +1800<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe this is the beginning of the end for Philadelphia. The 76ers don\u2019t have the same transition game without Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid\u2019s injury woes will always hang over this team like a cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
