We are guaranteed to have at least one finalist from Korea, and all three of the teams representing the LCK are previous world champions. T1 won Worlds in 2013, 2015, and 2016 as SK Telecom T1. Gen.G won Worlds in 2014 and 2017 as Samsung Galaxy. Defending champions DWG KIA won last year as DAMWON Gaming and are now the overall favorites to repeat after going unbeaten at Worlds to date. Edward Gaming is the only team that has yet to win a world championship, but the winners of the 2015 Mid-Season Invitational can become the third Chinese team in the last four years to win Worlds.

2021 League of Legends World Championship Semifinals Betting Odds

T1 +201
DWG KIA -250

T1 would be favored over either Gen.G or Edward Gaming, but they are underdogs to DWG KIA after losing to them in the LCK Summer Split Finals. DWG KIA have looked nigh unstoppable at Worlds so far, sweeping every team in the Group Stage before destroying back-to-back LEC champions MAD Lions in the quarterfinals.

Former T1 top laner Khan is playing extremely well right now. Khan was seen as the weak link of the team for most of the season, but he has proven that he can no longer be discounted. He has played well on every champion he has selected, and his amazing Kennen flanks kept DWG KIA unbeaten in Game 2 against MAD Lions last week. Khan is dealing over 31% of his team’s damage, and he can outplay T1’s Canna.

Without this win condition, it’s hard to see where T1 have an edge over DWG KIA. Canyon is the best jungler in the world, and while Oner is very good, he isn’t of the same caliber. Faker is the GOAT, but ShowMaker is more talented at this stage of his career. The bottom lane is really the area where T1 must win through, yet this is not a meta where strong bottom laners are needed. That should send DWG KIA to its second straight finals.

Gen.G +184
Edward Gaming -227

This should be a closer series than the one on Saturday. Edward Gaming have a world class bottom lane with veteran Meiko and Viper leading the way. Viper is the best AD Carry in the world this season although he made some mistakes in the quarterfinals against Royal Never Give Up, and Meiko has long been regarded as one of the best support players in the world.

Mid laner Scout is solid, but jungler Jiejie is a coin flip player and Flandre had a lot of positioning issues last week against RNG. That gives Gen.G a lot of confidence coming into this series. Gen.G have a mid laner that is playing great in BDD, and Clid is a solid jungler. Rascal and Life are wild cards, but if Ruler can play well and mitigate Viper, Gen.G can knock off EDG and make it an all-LCK finals.

Follow our Twitter account for the latest sports news and wagering odds, and come to our Instagram for more useful betting info too.

For the first time since 2016, there are three Korean teams in the League of Legends World Championship Semifinals.
