If you thought seeing the best game on the Week 8 schedule set for Thursday Night Football last week was weird, you\u2019ll be happy to know that all is right with the world. This week, we have been delivered hot prime time garbage as the New York Jets travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to face off against the Indianapolis Colts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two teams are a combined 5-10 on the season. The Colts are 1-3 at home this year and New York is 0-4 on the road, so you have no metric to lean on there. Joe Buck can\u2019t even hope for a World Series game to grant him a reprieve. He\u2019ll be suffering through this one with the rest of us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Colts and Jets have been rivals since 1970 when the Colts jumped from the NFL to the AFL when the leagues merged. The were both in the AFC East until 2002, when the league re-aligned again and created a new conference for Indianapolis to dominate and an AFC East for the Jets to meander about for 20 years or so. Indianapolis leads the all time series 43-32, but the Jets, believe it or not, have a 2-1 advantage in playoff match ups. Something neither team will probably have to worry about this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW YORK<\/strong> JETS (2-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans are two of the best teams in the AFC and yet, somehow, the Jets have managed to beat both of them. They are literally their only two victories of the season. Last week, second year QB Mike White, making his first NFL start, threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns (with two picks) just like we all thought he would in a 34-31 shocking victory over the Bengals, Running back Michael Carter rushed 15 times for 77 yards and a touchdown and caught nine passes for 95 yards. New York\u2019s defense sacked Joe Burrow three times and intercepted him once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDIANAPOLIS<\/strong> COLTS (3-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a chance to even up their record and get back into the potential playoff and AFC South championship race, the Colts blew it in overtime, losing 34-31 to the Tennessee Titans. Carson Wentz tossed two interceptions, his first in a while, while finishing 27 of 51 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 16 times for 70 yards and a score and Michael Pittman Jr. continued to make his case as the team\u2019s No. 1 receiver, hauling in 10 catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. The Colts defense sacked Ryan Tannehill three times and intercepted him twice. They held Derrick Henry to just 68 yards in the game before the All-Universe back left with an injured foot that will likely cost him the rest of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Mike White was able to do against the Bengals should not be minimized, but no one is fooled here. That\u2019s why the line is so high. It\u2019s just a thing that happens sometimes and unless this kid is Kurt Warner Part Two, the wheels will come right back off. Colts 31, Jets 13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
