This week\u2019s RSM Classic figures to be a little more exciting than usual. Many of the biggest names on the PGA Tour usually skip this tournament since it\u2019s the week before Thanksgiving. However, Scottie Scheffler, Webb Simpson, Louis Oosthuizen, and Harris English will all be in southeast Georgia for this event. Scheffler and Simpson are the favorites<\/a>, but there are other golfers to watch at The RSM Classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Streb became the only two-time winner of The RSM Classic last year. He won the 2014 RSM Classic in a playoff over Brendon de Jonge and Will MacKenzie. Streb followed that up with a playoff victory over Kevin Kisner here in 2020, but he is a whopping 70-1<\/a> to win his third title at Sea Island Golf Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last three editions of The RSM Classic have been decided by a playoff. Tyler Duncan bested Webb Simpson in 2019, and Charles Howell III topped Patrick Rodgers in 2018. Interestingly enough, all three of those tournaments went into a playoff with both golfers tied at 19-under.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the few tournaments played on multiple courses. Sea Island Golf Course has the Seaside Couse and the Plantation Course, and golfers rotate between the two courses in The RSM Classic. The Seaside Course is a par-70 course that checks in at 7,005 yards, while the Plantation Course is a par-72 at 7,160 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winds could seriously hurt the field on Friday and Saturday. Winds on St. Simons Island are expected to be around 15 MPH both days, adding an extra layer of danger to the Seaside Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Bet to Win The RSM Classic: Webb Simpson +1400<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a lot to like about Webb Simpson in this week\u2019s event. Simpson has finished runner-up here twice, losing a playoff to Tyler Duncan in 2019 and losing a playoff to Ben Crane in 2011. He finished T14 at the CJ Cup a month ago in his last tournament, but he has routinely shined at The RSM Classic. Rob Bolton highlighted that Simpson has shot 29 of his last 34 rounds here in the 60s, so there is little doubt that he will make it to the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Value Play to Win The RSM Classic: Seamus Power +6600<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seamus Power secured his first PGA Tour win at last year\u2019s Barbasol Championship. Power has been very active so far this season, and he has played relatively well in five tournaments. He has missed two cuts, but he has also finished T21, T12, and T11 in the last six weeks. His historic performances at this event aren\u2019t much to get excited over, but 66-1 makes him worth a flyer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
