The 2021 Hero World Challenge won\u2019t feature five-time champion Tiger Woods. The best golfer of his generation is still recovering from a car accident and has no clear timetable on when he will return to the course. However, this event will still be a star-studded affair as 20 of the top golfers in the world converge on the beautiful Bahamas for a $1 million winner-take-all prize. The only true longshot to win the event<\/a> is Henrik Stenson at 60-1, and he was the most recent winner of this tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three golfers that have won this event multiple times won\u2019t be in the field this weekend. Woods is still recovering from multiple injuries, while Davis Love III is on the Senior Tour and Graeme McDowell is on the European Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dual favorites<\/a> are Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa although neither golfer has previously won this event. Henrik Stenson and Jordan Spieth are the only former champions in the mix, as Jon Rahm, Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama, and Bubba Watson aren\u2019t part of this tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Course<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hero World Challenge was previously played at Sherwood Country Club in California from 2000 to 2013. It took place in Isleworth, Florida for one year before moving to its current home on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Albany Golf Course seems to present a lot of opportunities for players to make birdies. There are five par 5s and five par 3s on this course, but the average round is typically either 69 or 70. This course is right up on the water, so there are constant winds to keep track of in order to avoid danger. None of the four days are expected to be too windy though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Bet to Win the Hero World Challenge: Viktor Hovland +1100<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be Viktor Hovland\u2019s first crack at the Hero World Challenge, but he has plenty of experience with coastal courses. His first PGA Tour win came in Puerto Rico last year, and the Norwegian spent a lot of time playing links courses. Hovland won his last event, claiming the title at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba last month, and he was T5 at the TOUR Championship in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Value Play to Win the Hero World Challenge: Tyrrell Hatton +3000<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyrrell Hatton hasn\u2019t been great at his last two tournaments. He missed the cut in Houston three weeks ago, and he finished T40 at Mayakoba last month. Hatton is also a first timer here, but he recorded four top ten finishes during the 2020-21 season. The 30-year-old Englishman is excellent when it comes to dealing with sand, and that could really come in handy<\/a> for him in this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
