The GOAT is closing in on being an odds-on favorite<\/a> to be the 2021-22 NFL MVP. Tom Brady had another great game last week against the Atlanta Falcons, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the verge of winning the NFC South. A win over the Buffalo Bills this week in Tampa could lead to a snowball effect with Brady, as he has been named NFL MVP just three times despite being considered the GOAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remaining schedule is very kind to the Buccaneers. Buffalo is the only team with a winning record that Tampa Bay must face the rest of the season before feasting on four straight teams with losing records. Brady will have three of those games in warm Tampa Bay too, and he is on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards with 45 touchdowns. If he reaches those numbers and the Bucs grab the No. 1 seed in the NFC, it would be almost impossible for anyone to best him for this award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the odds on Aaron Rodgers to win the NFL MVP continue to drop<\/a>, it\u2019s not a shrewd bet. Rodgers was named the league MVP last season, and we haven\u2019t seen a repeat winner in 12 years. Peyton Manning led Indianapolis to a 14-2 record and threw for over 4,500 yards in that season, so Rodgers would have to do something as special in order to repeat. His overall stats just aren\u2019t great though, and the Packers have played worse than a 9-3 team per the advanced metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the dark horses to watch to win NFL MVP. Kyler Murray was the favorite to win the award<\/a> once upon the time, but he moved out of the top five after missing three games due to injury. Murray is back in the saddle for the best team in the NFL though, and the Cardinals will be very much in the public eye over the next few weeks as they face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night and the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Derrick Henry couldn\u2019t even win MVP after rushing for over 2,000 yards last season, but Jonathan Taylor has come on strong in recent weeks. Taylor has run for 1,348 yards and 16 touchdowns, and he is the only running back that currently has more than 1,000 rushing yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rams beat up on the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but we will see whether Matthew Stafford has a legitimate chance at the NFL MVP this weekend. LA must beat Arizona if the Rams have any hope of winning the NFC West, as they lost to the Cardinals at home earlier this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s pretty much over<\/a> for Josh Allen\u2019s MVP chances. The mid-season favorite has thrown seven interceptions in his last five starts, and he was unable to lead Buffalo to a win over New England at home in blustery conditions on Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
