Week 15 opens with one of the best games on the slate. The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers will battle at SoFi Stadium on Thursday Night Football with the AFC West title and a home playoff game at stake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, mathematically, nothing would be certain regardless of the outcome, but realistically the winner of this game will claim the division and a postseason game in their home stadium (if not in front of a home crowd. Sorry Chargers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As two of the original AFL teams, this rivalry goes back all the way to each franchise\u2019s birth in 1960. This will be the 124th<\/sup> all time meeting between the two squads with Kansas City holding a 64-58-1 advantage in the series. The Chargers have won their last two meetings, though the season finale in the 2020 season was meaningless for KC, who had already locked in home field advantage. Their starters didn\u2019t play. Chad Henne took the loss to eventual Offensive Rookie of the Year Justin Herbert at QB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game back on Sep. 26 very much counted, as LA won it 30-24. Herbert was good for 281 yards, four touchdowns and no picks in the win. Mike Williams caught seven passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes threw for 260 yards, three TDs and two picks in the loss. Clyde Edwards-Helaire carried the ball 17 times for 100 yards. Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 104 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KANSAS CITY<\/strong> CHIEFS AT LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (+3, O\/U: 525)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

KANSAS CITY<\/strong> CHIEFS (9-4)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chiefs are once again the scariest team in the AFC after winning six consecutive games coming into Thursday night\u2019s AFC West clash. Last week they knocked off the reeling Las Vegas Raiders 48-9. Mahomes finished 20 of 24 for 258 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Tyreek Hill caught four passes for 76 yards. Kansas City\u2019s defense sacked Derek Carr four times and picked him off once. They held the Raiders to just a total of 44 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (8-5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles had little trouble dispatching the New York Giants last Sunday, winning 37-21 in a game that wasn\u2019t even that close. Justin Herbert finished 23 of 31 for 275 yards and three touchdowns. Austin Ekeler carried the ball 12 times for 67 yards and a score. Jaylon Guyton caught three passes for 87 yards and a TD. The Chargers defense sacked Mike Glennon twice and intercepted him once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is tough, because I do believe LA is a playoff team. I also believe that my preseason pick of the Chiefs returning to the Super Bowl looks better by the week. A month ago, the Chargers would have been favored by a field goal and this line has already dropped a point since it opened at KC -4. Still, I think Kansa City is on a roll and stays there, especially with its defense playing lights out and its SoCal fans taking over SoFi to make it a veritable home game. Chiefs 27, Chargers 23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
