The 2021 Armed Forces Bowl will feature the Army Black Knights taking on the Missouri Tigers on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN from Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
College Football Betting Odds<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Army -4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Missouri +4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Total 57.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Army finished the season at 8-4. The Black Knights suffered a disappointing loss to Navy two weeks ago, but they won the Armed Forces Bowl in back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018. They hammered Houston 70-14 the last time they played in this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is Missouri\u2019s first trip to the Armed Forces Bowl. The Tigers upset Florida in their penultimate regular season game to become bowl eligible, but their only win outside of Columbia this year was on the road against Vanderbilt. They were 3-9 ATS this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Army Has the Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Black Knights run the ball better than almost anyone in the country. Army is averaging 4.9 YPC and 274.1 YPG on the ground this season. Christian Anderson has proven to be a nice pivot for the option, averaging 5.9 YPC, and Tyrell Robinson has been explosive with 9.1 YPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anderson is a dangerous passer too. He is averaging 11.1 YPA with five touchdowns and no interceptions for the Black Knights. Isaiah Alston has been the top receiver, but this is a triple option offense that doesn\u2019t throw the ball often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Missouri does not have a good defense. The Tigers are allowing 35.3 PPG and 451.9 YPG, ranking outside the top 100 in both categories. The front seven is conceding 5.3 YPC, but they have had almost a month to prepare for the triple option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When Missouri Has the Ball<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Tyler Badie has been one of the best running backs in the country this season. Badie has run for over 1,600 yards with 14 touchdowns, and he is averaging an impressive 6.0 YPC. He has five 200-yard games this season, and Missouri is 4-1 in those games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Badie also has the most receptions on the team. He has 54 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns. Connor Bazelak has been a decent passer, completing 65.3% of his passes for 6.8 YPA with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, but this is not an offense that can move the ball well through the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Army has a good run defense, allowing 3.9 YPC. However, the Black Knights are surrendering 8.7 YPA. They have had two less weeks to prepare for this offense too, so we could see Bazelak have one of his best games of the season<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prediction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Missouri is just 3-9 ATS this year, but the Tigers have a good chance<\/a> to beat Army with more time to prepare for this offense. That\u2019s key for beating triple option teams, and the front seven does have something to prove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The under is the best bet for the total.
