They played a few great games, upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals when they were 5-2, and beating the Tennessee Titans, who are about to win the AFC South. Those games probably led a lot of people to think the Jets had a higher ceiling and more potential than they actually did. The reality of the Jets is that they are a volatile team which has confounded expectations. That often means they confounded bettors this season. They were not predictable in any direction, which is what frustrates bettors to be sure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jacksonville Jaguars<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ATS Record: 4-11<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-13 overall and 4-11 against the spread. The Jaguars played only one game this season in which they could say they did their job and won primarily because they outplayed the opposition, not because they were gifted a win by the opponent. That win was the 9-6 victory over the Bills in which their defense crushed Josh Allen and sent him to the ice bath department with lots of bumps and bruises. The Jaguars\u2019 only other win was a victory over the Miami Dolphins in which Tua Tagovailoa played a terrible game and the Jaguars needed an improbable, long field goal at the end to win. This team is one of the two worst in the NFL, alongside the reeling New York Giants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Carolina Panthers<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n ATS Record: 5-10<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Panthers began the season 3-0 straight up. Early-season betting spreads respected the Panthers and what they did in those first few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It turned out that was a betting trap for people who were sold on the Panthers in early October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since that 3-0 start, the Panthers have won only two of their last 12 games. They are 5-10 overall and are also 5-10 against the spread. Coach Matt Rhule might not be fired this offseason, but many people think he should be. The revolving door at quarterback between Cam Newton and Sam Darnold is confusing, incoherent, and just plain weird. The Panthers seem to be stumbling around with no direction, an abrupt turn from a team which was 3-0 and looking like a legitimate playoff contender in the NFC South.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chicago Bears<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n ATS Record: 5-10<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bears are 5-10 against the spread this season. It is widely believed that coach Matt Nagy will be fired at the end of the season. Nagy\u2019s job was to make life easier for prime draft pick and franchise quarterback of the future Justin Fields. He has failed in that pursuit. A housecleaning will be needed in Chicago.
