The NBA trade deadline came on Thursday, bringing with it some major shifts<\/a> in the NBA futures odds. Brooklyn is no longer the favorite to win the title after trading James Harden. The odds on Philadelphia to win the title have been cut in half after acquiring Harden from the Nets, as the Sixers are in win now mode with Joel Embiid. This might be the most exciting NBA postseason in quite some time as we no longer have a presumptive favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Golden State Warriors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +375<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors stood pat at the NBA trade deadline, but they have become the favorites<\/a> as a result of Brooklyn trading Harden and other teams in the West not changing things up either. Golden State could still add a buyout player over the next couple months, but Steve Kerr might not want to mess with the chemistry anymore with the return of Klay Thompson. This team could really use one of its recent lottery picks stepping up in a big way too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Brooklyn Nets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +340<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although Brooklyn dealt one of the game\u2019s best players in James Harden, there is reason to believe they have a better chance of winning the championship with Ben Simmons. The guard that everyone loves to pile on is one of the best two-way players in the league, and this is the perfect team for him as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are more than happy to take over in the fourth quarter. Additionally, the Nets are getting a sniper that can knock down threes in Seth Curry, giving this team a terrifying starting five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Phoenix Suns<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week\u2019s Odds: +550<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phoenix is now 4.5 games up on Golden State for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, and bettors are finally starting to believe the Suns are for real. They are 45-10, but they were the third favorite in the conference behind the Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers for much of the season. The Suns finally cut ties with Jalen Smith at the trade deadline, and the return of defensive specialist Torrey Craig will make this team even tougher to beat in the playoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Philadelphia 76ers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daryl Morey certainly got his man. Morey held off on trading Ben Simmons for months with the hopes of landing a superstar, and he was able to land Harden after speculation had mounted that the two would reunite in the last week. Joel Embiid finally has someone that can help carry the load in the postseason, but the move cost the Sixers their best perimeter shooter and two first-round picks. Still, Philadelphia is looking to win a title now, as Embiid is the healthiest he has been in his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Milwaukee Bucks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Week\u2019s Odds: +700 (No Change)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defending NBA champions saw no change in their odds<\/a> to win the NBA championship as a result of their one move at the trade deadline. Milwaukee landed another big man in veteran Serge Ibaka, dealing Donte DiVincenzo, Rodney Hood, and Semi Ojeleye in a four-team trade. That move really helps the problems in the paint with Brook Lopez injured, but there is now little depth in the backcourt as Pat Connaughton fractured his finger on Thursday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
