The NCAA Tournament is next week. Teams are playing their way into the field of 68 and will have a place in the bracket when it is revealed on Selection Sunday, March 13. Let\u2019s look at four different teams which have a decent chance to create havoc in the brackets. These teams will all be seeded outside the top four. No team on this list will have a seed higher than No. 5. These are the teams No. 1 and No. 2 seeds do not want to play in the bracket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1 \u2013 LSU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Tigers might be a No. 6 seed for March Madness, but regardless of their seed, this team will be tough for a specific set of reasons. One is that LSU regularly plays strong defense under head coach Will Wade. Ever since Wade came to Baton Rouge as the head coach a few years ago, LSU has consistently been a good defensive team. LSU manages to get defensive stops late in games and is able to remain competitive in the SEC for that reason. The other big key for the Tigers within the context of this specific 2022 campaign is that they were hit very, very hard by injuries in the middle of the season. Now they have gotten their key injured players back into the lineup. A healthy LSU team did not lose a single game for the first seven weeks of the season. If the Tigers are back at full strength, they have the mixture of offense and defense which can carry them a long way. This might be an example of a team which (due to injuries) has a No. 6 seed in the bracket but possesses the talent and skill of a No. 3 seed. That is a very dangerous team to watch for in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2 \u2013 Alabama<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Crimson Tide have been all over the map this season. They have lost to Missouri and Georgia and gotten blown out by Texas A&M at home. This team has eaten some really bad losses in 2022. Yet, when this team is on top of its game, it is very hard to beat. Alabama beat Baylor, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Houston, and other teams which will get very high seeds in this NCAA Tournament. Alabama is so good when everything is going right and guys are knocking down perimeter jump shots. If Alabama can get quality 3-point shooting in the NCAA Tournament, it will become an extremely difficult team to beat. Alabama is not consistent, but if the Tide can get hot for two weeks, they could certainly make the Final Four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3 \u2013 Colorado State<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Rams have electric playmakers in their backcourt and in their frontcourt. They can spread the floor and make it very hard for opposing defenses to keep up with them. They are a complicated and difficult matchup for a lot of teams. They can move the ball into and through the low post, but they can also move the ball on the perimeter. They have multiple ways to outflank opposing defenses, and that makes them a tricky matchup for most teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4 \u2013 Memphis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Tigers looked terrible through January but came alive in February, beating Houston twice and avoiding the bad losses which had plagued them earlier in the year. This is a team which is growing in confidence at the right time of the season.
