We\u2019re in the land of the 2022 MLB World Series Champions, the Houston Astros, this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Houston Open has been a mainstay on the PGA Calendar for many years now. It has relocated on the calendar since Covid as it used to be the tournament before the Masters. It has relocated geographically to Memorial Park golf club for the last three years. Memorial Park is a fairly stern test as a par 71 course running to 7,412\u00a0 yards. Big ball hitters such as Sam Burns have tended to play well for the first two editions at this venue. You certainly need to be hitting your long irons well here. The famous Texas wind can also be a factor so check tee times and weather conditions to ensure your selections are getting the best of the conditions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s getting closer all the time. Lee finished top 6 two weeks ago and shot a fantastic seven under 62 in his third round to rocket up the placings at Mayakoba. I\u2019m calling it. He\u2019s doing it this week team. Lee Hodges wins the Houston Open.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Finau – Currently +1800 with Betonline <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think this could be a majorly big season for Tony Finau in 2023. He turned a big corner in his game with his victories in 2022 and he looks far more assured with the putter. This course should play to his superb ball-striking game from distance and we all know what he can do off the tee. His price isn\u2019t great but if you want someone who should be there come Sunday, Tony could be just your guy.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keith Mitchell – Currently +5500 with Betonline\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In what is not a strong field, Keith Mitchell seems mad money to me here. The lad hits it a country mile and has an excellent long iron game. He loves putting on Bermuda greens and the sterner the test of a course the more Mitchell seems to shine. His price seems very generous to me this week.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russell Henley – Currently +2200 with Betonline <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henley won in style last week and he\u2019s the kind of golfer who tends to stay in form for a while once he\u2019s there. He also has a good record of his two starts here at Memorial Park. He\u2019s not long but he is deadly accurate and there\u2019s no reason why he won\u2019t back up and go well again at a venue he clearly feels comfortable at.       <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
