With three teams from the NFC East still in the postseason, two of them had to meet up in the NFL Divisional Round. The New York Giants drew the short straw and will travel to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the top seeded Philadelphia Eagles to wrap up the Saturday portion of the playoff bracket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the 181st<\/sup> meeting between the two franchises and the fifth in the postseason. This will also, of course, be the third time they\u2019ve played each other this year. Philly got the season sweep in 2022 and has won 33 of the last 46 going all the way back to the 2001-02 season. Considering the Giants won two Super Bowls in that span, it\u2019s a shocking number. Philadelphia has also won three straight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They last met up in Week 18, with the Eagles claiming a 22-16 victory. Jalen Hurts, making his return from injury, was 20 of 35 for 229 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. Boston Scott rushed nine times for 54 yards and a TD. DeVonta Smith caught seven passes for 67 yards. AJ Brown had four grabs for 95 yards and Dallas Goedert caught six passes for 46 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York sat its starters in the loss, with Davis Webb getting the call at QB. He finished up 23 of 40 for 168 yards and a TD with no picks. Gary Brightwell carried the ball 11 times for 60 yards. Lawrence Cager caught eight passes for 69 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brian Daboll\u2019s postseason debut as a head coach could not have gone better as the Giants upset the Minnesota Vikings 31-24 to ruin pretty much every parlay on the planet last weekend. Daniel Jones was superb in his first ever playoff game, finishing 24 of 35 for 301 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He rushed 17 times for 78 yards and probably into a legit long term contract. Or, at least a franchise tag. Saquon Barkley had nine carries for 53 yards. He added five catches for 56 yards. Isaiah Hodgins caught eight passes for 105 yards and a score. Darius Slayton hauled in four balls for 88 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense didn\u2019t lay a glove on Kirk Cousins, but held the Vikings to 61 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (14-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eagles, of course, watched all of last week\u2019s action from their Lay-Z-Boys. The concerns for Philly this week all surround the health of Jalen Hurts. In the midst of an MVP level campaign, he missed two full games with a shoulder injury and definitely did not look particularly sharp in his Week 18 start. The bright side is, the team still won and he\u2019s had another two weeks of practice and recuperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An upset here wouldn\u2019t surprise, so I\u2019m not feeling the spread at all. I still think Philly should have plenty in the tank to continue their domination of the G-Men, for at least this season. But it\u2019ll be closer than people think. Eagles 24, Giants 20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
