In the preseason, this matchup on Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime looked like an epic duel between two of the best offensive play callers in the NFL, Andy Reid and Sean Payton. Now? Not so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, millions will be watching, not to see the Kanas City Chiefs obliterate the laughable Payton Broncos, but for the off chance that the camera will pan up to a luxury box to see Taylor Swift hug Mamma Kelce as the Chiefs battle the Broncos on TNF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As two of the original AFL franchises this rivalry goes all the way back to 1960, with Kansas City holding a 71-55 advantage. Why such a wide margin? Because Denver has not won a game in this clash since 2015. Yeah, we\u2019re talking Peyton Manning vs Alex Smith here. Since that Sep. 2015 victory for the Broncos, the Chiefs have reeled off 15 straight wins. So, yeah, Patrick Mahomes has never lost to Denver. That should go without saying. They last faced off on New Year\u2019s Day with Kansas City outlasting the Broncos 27-24. Russell Wilson was 26 of 38 for 22 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the loss. Latavius Murray (now with the Buffalo Bills) rushed 12 times for 56 yards. Jerry Jeudy caught seven passes for 38 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the win, Patrick Mahomes was 29 of 42 for 328 yards, three touchdowns and a pick. Isiah Pacheco rushed nine times for 31 yards and a TD. Travis Kelce caught seven passes for 43 yards. Jerick McKinnon ruined fantasy leagues all over the country, as he always does, by hauling in five balls for 52 yards and two scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DENVER BRONCOS AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-10.5, O\/U: 47.5)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DENVER BRONCOS (1-4)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sean Payton public shaming continued last week with the New York Jets, offensive coordinated by one Nathaniel Hackett, delivering a solid 31-21 beat down on Denver Sunday. Russell Wilson was 20 of 31 passing for 196 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the loss. He scrambled seven times for 49 yards and was sacked four times. Jaleel McLaughlin rushed nine times for 68 yards. Saje Perene had six carries for 22 yards and caught four passes for 73 yards. The defense sacked Zach Wilson once and picked him off once but surrendered 234 yards on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (4-1)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kansas City survived once again, this time eking out a 27-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings on the road last week. Patrick Mahomes was 31 of 41 for 281 yards, two touchdowns and no picks. He was sacked twice. Isaiah Pacheco rushed 16 times for 55 yards and a TD. Travis Kelce, who suffered an ankle sprain in the game, caught 10 passes for 67 yards and a score and the Swifties rejoined (we love you! Keep watching!). The defense sacked Kirk Cousins three times and held Minnesota to 70 total yards on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Broncos haven\u2019t won this game since Barack Obama was president and I see no reason to believe they can change that now. This might be one of the few Kansas City games that don\u2019t go down to the wire. Chiefs 38, Broncos 20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
