It\u2019s time for us to have a real conversation about starting the NFL flex schedule pretty much from Week 2 on. I want to apologize ahead of time to Cris Collinsworth\u2019s ass for the outright useless slide-in it will be forced to attempt as the New York Giants face off against a humbled Buffalo Bills team on Sunday Night Football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the 15th<\/sup> all time meeting between the two \u201cNew York\u201d based teams, when really only one plays in the state of New York. Their most famous matchup was in Super Bowl XXV with New York winning 20-19 in one of the best Super Bowls of that era. I\u2019m positive they won\u2019t get the chance to meet up in the Super Bowl again this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They last faced off on Sep. 15, 2019, with the Bills claiming a 28-14 victory. Josh Allen was 19 of 30 passing for 253 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in the win. Frank Gore (now retired) rushed 19 times for 68 yards and a TD. John Brown (now retired, I guess) caught seven passes for 72 yards. Cole Covid-19 Super Spreader Beasley had four grabs for 83 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Giants, Eli Manning was 26 of 45 passing for 250 yards, one TD and two picks. Saquon Barkley had 18 carries for 107 yards and a score. Evan Engram (now with the Jacksonville Jaguars) caught six passes for 48 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW YORK GIANTS AT BUFFALO BILLS <\/strong>(-14, O\/U: 45)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW YORK GIANTS (1-4)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giants are coming into this game after suffering a solid 31-16 beat down at the fins of the Miami Dolphins. Daniel Jones was 14 of 20 for 119 yards, no touchdowns and no picks. He rushed four times for 24 yards and was sacked six times, eventually getting knocked from the game. He will not play Sunday night. Tyrod Taylor, coming in from the bullpen, was 9 of 12 for 86 yards. Darren Waller caught eight passes for 86 yards. With Saquon Barkley out, the G-men rushed for a paltry 85 total yards. The defense picked off Tua Tagovailoa twice and sacked him once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUFFALO BILLS (3-2)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buffalo decided to make their trip to London a short one, arriving on Friday before their game with the Jacksonville Jaguars (who\u2019d been there for two weeks) and paid the price. The Bills lost 25-20 in a game that could have some real playoff implications down the road with seeding. Josh Allen had a solid day passing, going 27 of 40 for 359 yards, two touchdowns and a pick, but he led the team rushing with four carries for 14 yards and a TD. Buffalo rushed for just 29 total yards as a team. Stefon Diggs caught eight passes for 121 yards and a score. Gabe Davis had six grabs for 100 yards and a touchdown. The defense sacked Trevor Lawrence five times and forced two fumbles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At some point you just have to feel sorry for the Giants. Is Taylor a huge drop off from Jones? Probably not, but that\u2019s not a good thing. Buffalo is looking to take out some frustrations and will probably start scoring before Collinsworth\u2019s bum warmth fades from Mike Terico\u2019s left thigh. Bills 44, Giants 13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
