Our regular Washington Commanders vs Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving afternoon match up shows up once again, and, as usual, this one should not be much of a game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be the 11th<\/sup> time the Commanders and Cowboys have faced off on Turkey Day and it will not shock you to see that Dallas holds an 8-2 advantage in that tryptophan coma inducing rivalry. The series goes all the way back to the Cowboys\u2019 first year in the NFL, 1960, so they\u2019ve played a lot. Dallas also has a significant advantage overall, 76-48-2. The Commanders won their last meeting in the 2022-23 season finale, 26-6. Sam Howell was 11 of 19 passing for 169 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the win. He scrambled five times for 35 yards and a score. Jake Patterson rushed 17 times for 78 yards. Terry McLaurin caught three passes for 74 yards and a TD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the loss, Dak Prescott was 14 of 37 passing for 128 yards, one touchdown and a pick. CeeDee Lamb caught five passes for 52 yards, one TD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS AT DALLAS COWBOYS <\/strong>(-11, O\/U: 48.5)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (4-7)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just as it appeared all hope was lost in the Commanders\u2019 wish to tank this season, they went and soiled not only their bed, but every single bed in a tri-state area, losing 31-19 to the Tommy DeVito-led New York Giants. Sam Howell was 31 of 45 passing for 255 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He scrambled three times for 35 yards, a score and was sacked four times. Brian Robinson, Jr. rushed 17 times for 73 yards. He added seven catches for 58 yards. Logan Thomas caught five balls for 58 yards as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DALLAS COWBOYS (7-3)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas continued its outright domination of bad teams, obliterating the Carolina Panthers 33-10 last week. Dak Prescott was 25 of 38 passing for 189 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was not sacked. Tony Pollard rushed 12 times for 61 yards and a TD. He added four receptions for 19 yards. CeeDee Lamb caught six passes for 38 yards and a score. The defense picked Bryce Young off once, sacked him seven times and forced a fumble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE PICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ironically, the first game of our Thanksgiving tripleheader has the drama. Our second act, significantly less so. While Washington is still technically in the playoff mix, no one, not even their new owners, wants them to make it. In fact, if they\u2019d just go ahead and lose out, I\u2019m sure Magic Johnson has his giant fingers crossed, hoping for exactly that. Meanwhile, Dallas is pretty much out of the NFC East title race and heading for another NFC Divisional Round exit, probably to the San Francisco 49ers again, so they\u2019re just playing out the streak here. The Cowboys can beat the bad teams. The Commanders are a bad team. It should not be especially close and, if it is, just count this as one more reason Mike McCarthy should get canned at the end of the year. Cowboys 34, Commanders 20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
