I’m not bothering to look it up, but both Saturday contests are two scores. Last week, a couple of those spreads got annihilated, so it might not mean much in this round. All these franchises earned the right to be here, most of them emphatically.

We open with the Houston Texans traveling to the AFC’s No. 1 seed, the Baltimore Ravens. This will just be the 13th game in the all-time series, with Baltimore holding a commanding 11-2 advantage. The lone Texans wins came in 2014 (25-13) and 2012 (43-13). They last squared off on Sep. 10 of this season with the Ravens winning 25-9. In the win, Lamar Jackson was 17 of 22 passing for 169 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. He led the Texans in rushing with six carries for 38 yards. JK Dobbins (out for the season with an injury) rushed eight times for 22 yards and as a score and Justice Hall finished with eight rushes for nine whole yards and two TDs. Zay Flowers caught nine passes for 78 yards.

In the loss, CJ Stoud was 28 of 44 passing for 242 yards, no touchdowns and no picks. Dameon Pierce rushed 11 times for 38 yards. Nico Collins caught six passes for 80 yards.

HOUSTON TEXANS AT BALTIMORE RAVENS (-9.5, O/U: 43.5)

Location: M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, Md.

Broadcast: ABC/ESPN/ESPN+

Kickoff: Jan. 20, 4:30 p.m.

HOUSTON TEXANS (11-7)

It was the “upset of Wild Card weekend” for all of one day, but the fact that the Green Bay Packers destroyed the Dallas Cowboys should not mask that the Texans, with a rookie head coach and quarterback, obliterated the Cleveland Browns, 45-14, last Saturday. CJ Stroud went 16 of 21 passing for three touchdowns and no interceptions in the win. He was not sacked. Devin Singletary rushed 13 times for 66 yards and a score. Nico Collins had a national coming out party, catching six passes for 96 yards and a TD. Brevin Jordan hauled in one 76-yard touchdown pass. Dalton Schultz had one 37-yard TD reception. The defense held Cleveland to just 56 yards on the ground, picked off Joe Flacco twice and sacked him four times.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (13-4)

With the top seed in the playoffs already sewn up, the Ravens rested starters in a Week 18 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers that allowed that team to sneak into the postseason, before making a quick exit. Tyler Huntley, getting the start, was 15 of 28 passing for 146 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Gus Edwards rushed 10 times for 48 yards. Nelson Agholor caught five passes for 39 yards. Isaiah Likely had two receptions for 31 yards and a score.

THE PICK

Houston remains one of the great stories of the 2023-24 season and the fact that head coach DeMeco Ryans was able to keep the Baltimore offense mostly in check the first time they faced each other should not be ignored. But that was back in September, before the Ravens found their groove. Plus, Baltimore’s defense didn’t let the Texans do much. I expect more scoring from both teams in this one, but with the return of Mark Andrews, I feel that this spread is probably safe. Ravens 34, Texans 24

Last week

Straight up: 2-4

Against the spread: 3-3

Season

Straight up: 190-88

Against the spread: 176-102

Follow Adam Greene on Twitter @TheFirstMan.

Connect with us our socials on Twitter and Instagram for the latest sports news, viral moments, betting odds and the occasional memes.

BY ADAM GREENE Our NFL Divisional Round begins with what could be the most lopsided spreads for two of the…

[129
146
post-24658","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl","tag-nfl
["GET
