Once thick as thieves, Bayley and Iyo Sky are now bitter enemies heading into<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wrestlemania 40. Returning from injury at the 2022 edition of Summerslam, Bayley<\/p>\n\n\n\n
didn\u2019t come back alone. Both Dakota Kai and the Genius of the Sky stood side-by-side<\/p>\n\n\n\n
with the Role Model, now as the heel trio known as Damage CTRL. The group would<\/p>\n\n\n\n
add two new members along the way in The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
who previously had their differences with Bayley but all was now forgiven en route to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Championship domination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, with Iyo as the WWE Women\u2019s Champion and The Kabuki Warriors as WWE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women\u2019s Tag Team Champions, the group has a stranglehold on the Smackdown<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women\u2019s Division. That being said, Bayley is considered the biggest threat to Sky\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n
current reign and to her control of Friday Nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2024 Royal Rumble winner was blindsided by the group that she created a year<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and a half ago. After overhearing the rest of the group talk about her behind her back,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bayley would go on to confront her fellow Damage CTRL cohorts. That\u2019s where they<\/p>\n\n\n\n
proceeded to hand the Role Model a beatdown and effectively kicked her out of the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
group. Bayley would then confirm her intentions to challenge Iyo for the WWE Women\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Championship at Wrestlemania 40, turning her face in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We haven\u2019t seen her as a babyface since 2019 and she hasn\u2019t held a championship<\/p>\n\n\n\n
since October 2020. After despising who she became for half a decade, the fans are<\/p>\n\n\n\n
behind Bayley once again and are clamoring for her to capture gold for a seventh time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this moment, she is really the only option that makes sense to take the title from Iyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You have their history and she is an established talent that the fans are already behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stars are aligned for her to hold Championship gold once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since cashing in her Money in the Bank contract and capturing the WWE Women\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Championship at Summerslam last year, Sky has risen to the challenge of being a title<\/p>\n\n\n\n
holder in the WWE. Already a former NXT Women\u2019s Champion, she does have the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
experience of being the face of a division. She drew a line in the sand when her and the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
rest of Damage CTRL put the boots to Bayley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Much like Rhea Ripley, the booking for Sky has seen the champ only defend her title<\/p>\n\n\n\n
once on TV or a PLE this year. That being said, there won\u2019t be any worry of ring rust as<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the Genius of the Sky has been active on live events, teaming with various members of<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Damage CTRL throughout the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s definitely time for a change in the WWE Women\u2019s title picture on Smackdown and<\/p>\n\n\n\n
what better time and place to shake things up than on The Grandest Stage of Them All?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And while Bayley\u2019s name isn\u2019t in the same realm as say Becky Lynch, she\u2019s been<\/p>\n\n\n\n
around long enough that the fans care about her and a win would actually mean<\/p>\n\n\n\n
something. Bayley needs to get her comeuppance on the group and more specifically<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iyo Sky. What better way than to take the one thing she cares about most in the world,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the WWE Women\u2019s Championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
