With the 2024 CFL season just under a month away, it\u2019s time to take a look at some favorites to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
go all the way for Canada\u2019s ultimate pigskin prize, the Grey Cup. Winnipeg has been a<\/p>\n\n\n\n
consistent contender for the last half-decade but there are a few other teams who are poised to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
make a run at the crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Winnipeg Blue Bombers +250<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a bona fide dynasty, actually scratch that, they are a dynasty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having won back-to-back Grey Cup championships and losing the last two, the Blue Bombers<\/p>\n\n\n\n have appeared in four straight postseason finales. Despite the consistency, it does mean<\/p>\n\n\n\n they\u2019ve lost back-to-back Grey Cups. They were the best team in the West last year with a 14-4<\/p>\n\n\n\n record heading into the playoffs. Now, they\u2019re sharks that have smelt blood in the water and are<\/p>\n\n\n\n circling for redemption. Led by quarterback and two-time Most Outstanding Player Zach<\/p>\n\n\n\n Collaros, Winnipeg is an experienced squad who are the favorites heading into 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Toronto Argonauts +300<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2023 was thought to be a repeat banner year for the Toronto Argonauts but they were upset by<\/p>\n\n\n\n the eventual Grey Cup champs in the Montreal Alouettes. The Argos are in a tough spot after<\/p>\n\n\n\n star quarterback, who is one of the highest-paid players in the league, was suspended for a<\/p>\n\n\n\n minimum of nine regular-season games. The suspension came following a third-party<\/p>\n\n\n\n investigation that concluded the QB had violated the league\u2019s gender-based violence policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Behind Kelly on the depth chart are Cameron Dukes and Bryan Scott and that\u2019s where the<\/p>\n\n\n\n unimpressive list stops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n BC Lions +550<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2024 holds high hopes for the BC Lions, as the club is slated to host this year\u2019s Grey Cup<\/p>\n\n\n\n championship game. Since Owner Amar Doman purchased the team in the middle of the 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n season, the Lions have certainly had a pep in their step. 2022 and 2023 would produce identical<\/p>\n\n\n\n seasons for the Leos, their best efforts since 2016 after a 12-6 record and making the West<\/p>\n\n\n\n Final. Now with the incentive of a home Grey Cup, there is the pressure to perform for Doman<\/p>\n\n\n\n and his squad. They re-upped their starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. with a three-year<\/p>\n\n\n\n deal after he finished with career highs in completions, completion percentage, passing yards<\/p>\n\n\n\n and passing touchdowns in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Montreal Alouettes +550<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n After winning their first title in over a decade, the reigning and defending Grey Cup champions<\/p>\n\n\n\n aren\u2019t getting much love heading into 2024. Quarterback Cody Fajardo didn\u2019t have an explosive<\/p>\n\n\n\n regular-season but he came to play when it counted.
