For the last two years, the NFC South has been disappointing as no team has hit double-digits<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in wins. Tampa has won three straight titles but with records of 8-9, and 9-8, although the Bucs<\/p>\n\n\n\n
did win a playoff game last season. With some big names signing in the South, who will take<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the division crown in 2024-2025?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atlanta Falcons -115<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As soon as the Falcons signed Kirk Cousins, they became the favorites to win the division. But<\/p>\n\n\n\n then they also drafted Michael Penix Jr. and now the South is theirs to lose. Atlanta hasn\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n made the playoffs since 2017 and with a weaker division, they are expected to return to the<\/p>\n\n\n\n postseason. The offense has some big weapons in Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts<\/p>\n\n\n\n and also added WR Darnell Mooney. Raheem Morris takes over this team and is a coach<\/p>\n\n\n\n players want to play for. Atlanta can win this division by playing just above-average football in<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tampa Bay Buccaneers +300<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bucs got hot at the right time winning 4 of the last five to take the South. But this was also<\/p>\n\n\n\n combined with a 1-4 record by Atlanta, so they got some help too. Tampa retained most of its<\/p>\n\n\n\n big-name offensive free agents, including Baker Mayfield who saw a resurgence last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But key pieces did leave the team, Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen retired, while defensive<\/p>\n\n\n\n veterans Shaq Barrett and Devin White left in free agency. Mike Evans is back as the Bucs<\/p>\n\n\n\n chase their fourth straight crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New Orleans Saints +325<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n New Orleans lost the division last season in a tiebreak and are headed into a season with some<\/p>\n\n\n\n salary cap issues. The Saints lost many key veterans, QB Jameis Winston, OL Andrus Peat<\/p>\n\n\n\n and WR Michael Thomas. Derek Carr returns as the starter and the team added pass rusher<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chase Young, but it could be a challenging season in the Big Easy. There are some good<\/p>\n\n\n\n young pieces from the draft, rookies OT Taliese Fuaga, CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, and QB<\/p>\n\n\n\n Spencer Rattler. But they are still a year or two away. The Saints will win some games, likely<\/p>\n\n\n\n not enough to take the division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Carolina Panthers +1100<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Panthers had the worst record in football but didn\u2019t get the first pick because of the Bryce<\/p>\n\n\n\n Young deal with Chicago last year. New Head Coach Dave Canales has an uphill battle with a<\/p>\n\n\n\n roster that isn\u2019t deep. Carolina lost its best player, trading LB Brian Burns. The Panthers also<\/p>\n\n\n\n lost TE Harden Hurst and CB C.J. Henderson. This will be a rebuilding year with the hopes<\/p>\n\n\n\n Young develops.
