Not only are these

wideouts on entry-level contracts, they’ve been producing at a high rate, especially players

taken in the top-6. In the last decade, four receivers have reached at least 982 yards ( Amari

Cooper, Sammy Watkins, Ja’Marr Chase, Jaylen Waddle). And some of these hit those

numbers before the league expanded to a 17-game regular season. So which rookies have a

shot at putting up big numbers in 2024? We explore the options.

Marvin Harrison Jr. – Arizona Cardinals

Over 1,000.5 Yards (-125)

Under 1000.5 Yards (-105)

Marvin Harrison Jr. was the first of seven wide receivers selected in the first round and

considered the best prospect in 2024. He lands in the person spot, an elite quarterback in Klyer

Murray who has been without a number one target for a few seasons. In his final two seasons

at Ohio State, Harrison recorded nearly 2,500 total receiving yards and 28 touchdowns. He’ll be

the Cardinals main threat and as long as he remains healthy, Harrison is expected to smash this

number and has the tools to do so.

Malik Nabers – New York Giants

Over 900.5 Yards (-125)

Under 900.5 Yards (-105)

The Giants have been in need of a top-notch receiver since 2019 and now they have found that

in Malik Nabers. He offers versatility and can play slot or as a deep threat. And that means he’ll

quickly become Daniel Jones’ best friend. Nabers racked up more than 1,000 yards in his final

two seasons at LSU including 1,569 yards last year, along with 14 touchdowns. Many feel

Nabers could lead rookies in yardage next season meaning going over this total is almost a

foregone conclusion.

Rome Odunze – Chicago Bears

Over 700.5 Yards (-130)

Under 700.5 Yards (+100)

The Bears used their second, first-round pick to snag Rome Odunze. The former Huskie tore

up his final college season with 1,640 receiving yards, averaging almost 18 yards per reception.

He’s another rookie who can be a game breaker but may have some hurdles in Chicago.

Odunze will play third fiddle at the position to Keenan Allen and DJ Moore but if Odunze can get

about 17-18% of targets, he should be able to hit this total.

Xavier Worthy – Kansas City Chiefs

Over 750.5 Yards (-115)

Under 750.5 Yards (-115)

What a way to start off your NFL career by joining the defending, two-time champions with the

best quarterback on the planet. He holds the 40-yard dash record at the NFL Combine (4.21

seconds) and was taken late in the first-round. But Worthy joins an offense that is more

balanced with Travis Kelce and newly acquired Marquise Brown. And add to the mix Rashee

Rice, and that makes Worthy the fourth option for Patrick Mahomes. The last time the Chiefs

had a fast rookie wide receiver was in 2016. And that year, Tyreek Hill, who Worthy is being

compared to, finished the season with just 593 yards.

Brock Bowers – Las Vegas Raiders

Over 650.5 Yards (+100)

Under 650.5 Yards (-115)

While he is a tight end Brock Bowers should be a big part of the Vegas offense this season.

Here’s a fun fact, only nine tight end rookies have gone over 675 receiving yards in their first

year. But it’s happened three times in the last ten years including Sam LaPorta, last season

(Kyle Pitts, Evan Engram). The problems for Bowers to hit this number are the Raiders have

Gardner Minshew as the quarterback, and Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Michael Mayer

as their main offensive weapons. So it’s more than likely, his development into a big time player

may take a season or two.

Rookie receivers are becoming important pieces for teams in recent years.
