On the comedy side, it\u2019s all about \u201cThe Bear\u201d once again. Between<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cShogun\u201d and \u201cThe Bear\u201d alone FX is having a huge year and may need a U-Haul to carry all of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>their awards. Let&#8217;s take a look at a few key categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comedy Series<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is \u201cThe Bear\u2019s\u201d category to lose. Remember, this edition of the awards show is based on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the second season of the hit FX series which originally aired in June of 2023. With 23<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>nominations this time around, it breaks the 22-nomination record for a comedy series held by<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c30 Rock\u201d from back in 2009. There is a good chance that they also surpass their own record for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>most wins by a comedy series in a single year with 10 last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both ABC\u2019s \u201cAbbott Elementary\u201d HBO\/Max\u2019s \u201cHacks\u201d have played second fiddle to first \u201cTed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lasso\u201d and then \u201cThe Bear\u201d for the last few years but could this be the year that one of these<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>two bridesmaids go from perennial contender to Emmy award winner?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drama Series<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FX\u2019s highly acclaimed drama \u201cShogun\u201d is the odds on favorite to take home the network&#8217;s first<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>drama series victory. That being said, it\u2019s not as much of a done deal as you may think. With<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>other first season shows such as Mr. and Mrs. Smith making a push there is also the final<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>season of Netflix\u2019s monarchy drama \u201cThe Crown\u201d making noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many analysts have pointed to the precedent set by Season 8 of HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>which won in this category at the 2019 Emmy awards despite being universally panned. Could<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>we see some voters cast ballots with rose colored glasses rather than seeing the final season of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Crown\u201d for what it really was?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comedy Actor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeremy Allen White is the favorite to repeat as the winner in this category for his performance as<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carmen \u201cCarmy\u201d Berazatto in \u201cThe Bear\u201d. The only thing that could hamper a victory for White,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>is if voters skew their view and forget they\u2019re voting for Season 2 and not the mix reviewed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Season 3.
