While both of these teams are fighting to stay relevant in the MLS playoff picture this could be an entertaining game between two evenly matched sides. Toronto would make the playoffs were the season to end today but just barely–they’re tied with Orlando and Chicago all with 18 points but they currently hold the tie breaker. Obviously, they’d like to get a more secure grasp on the playoffs and a win here could go a long way toward making that happen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s been a tough go for Toronto of late and they’ve not been particularly impressive on their home field. At home they’re 3-2-3 scoring 16 and allowing 13. On the road, they’re 2-1-3 scoring 8 and allowing 10. They’ve been in extremely poor form of late winless in their last six overall (4 losses, 2 draws) and are currently hanging on to their playoff berth due to the point they scrapped in the draw at Vancouver last weekend. In their last 6 they’ve been extremely porous defensively allowing 10 goals and scoring only 3. In that stretch they’ve drawn 1 and lost 2 both at home and on the road. At home, they’ve scored two and allowed 4 in their last 3 while away they’ve scored only 1 and allowed 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, compared to Sporting KC’s recent form Toronto might as well be Manchester City. KC has only 1 win in their last 10 matches with their only win coming over the Seattle Sounders on their home field at Children’s Mercy Park. To make matters worse, they’ve not won away from home all year going 0-3-3 scoring 5 goals and conceding 10. In theory, Toronto looks like the better play here at BMO Field but it’s tough to trust their form either and particularly on the defensive end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So how do you play it when you’ve got two defensively porous sides? If you said ‘go Over’ give yourself a star. Sporting KC matches averaging 3.5 goals per, Toronto averaging 3.36 per. Toronto totals 3+ in 10 of 14 games this year. Given the weak defenses involved the O\/U 3 goals offered on the MLS soccer odds<\/a> board looks reasonable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
