Lamar Jackson put on a show in Week 1 of the NFL season. Jackson torched the Miami Dolphins to lead Baltimore to a stunning 59-10 win, and he was the highest-rated quarterback of the week by a wide margin. However, some have dismissed the victory since Miami is obviously tanking this season, so doubters are asking Jackson to prove himself once more. He will be out to silence those critics when Baltimore hosts the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019ve only seen scant movement on the line in this game. The opening NFL betting line<\/a> had Baltimore favored by 13.5 points, but that has since dropped a half-point to where it sits at 13. The juice indicates it could dip lower though, so keep an eye on the number. <\/p>\n\n\n\n There has been a significant amount of action on the total. The original NFL betting odds<\/a> had the over\/under set at 42.5, but that has since skyrocketed up to 46. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Arizona won\u2019t have its best defensive player as Patrick Peterson continues to serve a six-game suspension for violating the NFL\u2019s PED policy. The Cardinals will also be without offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert for the rest of the year after he was put on IR for a torn ACL. Defensive end Jonathan Bullard and center Lamont Gaillard are both questionable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Ravens\u2019 starting corners are both banged up coming into Sunday\u2019s game with Arizona. Marlon Humphrey and Jimmy Smith are both considered questionable, and Smith\u2019s knee injury is enough of a concern that he could be placed on short-term IR. Wide receiver Marquise \u2018Hollywood\u2019 Brown is questionable to play through a hip injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rookie Kyler Murray was dreadful for three quarters in his debut. He went 9-26 for 70 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, and he was sacked four times. However, Murray grew up quickly in the fourth quarter, throwing darts in leading an Arizona comeback. Murray completed 20 of 28 passes for 238 yards and two scores in the fourth quarter and overtime to salvage a tie for the Cardinals against the Lions in Week 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The No. 1 overall pick made the most of what he had available. He prioritized Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson in the passing game, and the two responded in a big way. Fitzgerald looked rejuvenated playing for a quarterback with potential that could get him the ball in space, and Johnson again looked like the terrifying dual threat running back we saw in 2016. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, the key is to build off that performance. First-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury knows that 2019 is a rebuilding year, and all the front office is looking for is signs of improvement. They want to have further success in the passing game, and both Murray and Fitzgerald could go well over their NFL player props<\/a> if both Baltimore corners are out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Arizona will prove to be more of a test than Miami was for this Baltimore defense. The Ravens still have plenty of question marks after losing so many talented veterans in the offseason, so we\u2019ll start to see if they have been adequately addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lamar Jackson is fun to watch. The Ravens spent the offseason retooling their offense to fit Jackson\u2019s skillset, and everything went according to plan in the first week. Interestingly enough, Jackson didn\u2019t do anything on the ground, running for just six yards, but he lit up the Dolphins through the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jackson completed 17 of 20 passes for 324 yards and five scores. He posted a nearly perfect 99.4 QBR, and all of his damage was done in just two-and-a-half quarters. Brown seemed to be the real deal in his rookie debut, so it would be a big blow if he wasn\u2019t available for Jackson in this game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ground game picked up heaps of yardage even without Jackson being very productive. Offseason acquisition Mark Ingram shined, averaging 8.6 yards per carry, and Baltimore wants to establish the run to help Jackson in the passing game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Arizona will try to make Jackson beat its defense with his arm though. The Cardinals showed they could stop the run against Detroit by holding Kerryon Johnson and CJ Anderson to just over three yards per carry, but Matt Stafford had a big day through the air. Without Peterson, the Cardinals secondary is vulnerable, so Jackson needs to succeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I would lean to the \u2018over\u2019 here, but my favorite bet is Arizona +13.
