Obviously, we&#8217;ll be getting a higher price on the NHL futures odds to win the conference and that allows us to employ a variety of strategies.  It&#8217;s also important to keep in mind that winning the division in the regular season and advancing through the playoffs to win the conference championship are two distinctly different accomplishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NHL WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP FUTURES BETTING<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS +550<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The price wasn&#8217;t right on the Vegas Golden Knights to bet them to win the Pacific Division at +120 but this is significantly more attractive.  One significant advantage that Vegas enjoyed in their 2017-2018 run to the Stanley Cup Finals was the NHL playoff seeding format.  They got to face Pacific Division opponents in the first and second rounds while the Central Division teams&#8211;aka the toughest division in hockey&#8211;got to engage in a war of attrition.  With the Pacific Division once again looking significantly weaker than the Central this scenario could play out once again.  Not that the Knights don&#8217;t have any intrinsic upside&#8211;they&#8217;re a pretty solid team in their own right&#8211;but the edge they gain from the format can&#8217;t be underestimated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>NASHVILLE PREDATORS +900<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Colorado is the trendy pick to win the Central Division and the top choice from the division to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.  We love the Avs, but think they might be a year away.  St. Louis is still a solid team but making the finals back to back is a tough challenge in any sport.  The Winnipeg Jets have a real liability in their defenseman corps.  Dallas struggled to put the puck in the net last year.  That brings us back to the Nashville Predators who were our choice to win the Central.  No team did more to fill their needs as completely and precisely as did the Predators.  Matt Duchene was the prize free agent of the offseason and the Preds got him along with Mikael Granlund.  Nashville has one of the best goalie tandems in the NHL with Pekka Rinne and heir apparent Jusse Saros.  Not many teams could survive a loss to their top goalie and still content for the cup.
