Joe Biden is no longer the frontrunner according to the oddsmakers, with Elizabeth Warren moving into pole position, but the race is still very open with so much time before the Iowa caucuses. Let’s look at the race as it stands now and highlight some odds.
Who will be the Democratic Party’s nominee in the 2020 United States Election?

DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE FOR 2020 ELECTION

ELIZABETH WARREN -120
JOE BIDEN +450
ANDREW YANG +700
BERNIE SANDERS +1000
PETE BUTTIGIEG +1000
KAMALA HARRIS +1400
TULSI GABBARD +3300
BETO O’ROURKE +5000
CORY BOOKER +5000
TOM STEYER +5000
AMY KLOBUCHAR +6600
JULIAN CASTRO +8000
JAY INSLEE +10000
MARIANNE WILLIAMSON +10000
JOHN DELANEY +15000
MICHAEL BENNETT +15000
TIM RYAN +15000

Although Warren is still behind Biden in most polls, her numbers have steadily risen over the last two months and that trajectory has led to the Massachusetts senator becoming the favorite. Warren has a message that appeals to the masses, and her exuberance at rallies has made her increasingly popular.

She is ahead of Biden according to the two most recent polls from Monmouth University and Quinnipiac University, and she has given impressive performances at all three debates. Warren was once 22-1 to win the Democratic nomination, so a lot of the value in her to be named the party’s candidate has evaporated, but she deserves to be the odds-on favorite at this point.

Joe Biden should have never decided to run for the Democratic Party’s nomination in 2020. According to reports, Barack Obama and others tried to convince the former Vice President not to run, and now Biden might be second-guessing his decision to throw his hat in the ring. Biden’s problems have become obvious, and his electability is very much in doubt after he was installed as the initial favorite per the Democratic Party nomination betting odds.

We’ve seen numerous slip-ups from Biden on the campaign trail, and unlike Warren, he is showing his age. His poll numbers have started to decline as his flaws have become more pronounced, and his campaign is headed in the wrong direction. A few poor showings in early primaries may lead to Biden bowing out rather early.

Andrew Yang’s poll numbers have been trending upward, but there is a ceiling on the young entrepreneur’s support. He has polled above five percent just once, and he generally averages garnering just two or three percent in polls. His Universal Basic Income policy initially won him support, but he has struggled to find headway on any other issue, and that’s a major problem in such a contentious election.

Yang has been criticized as a candidate with a lot of flash and not much substance, and he has done little to dissuade his critics that’s not the case. He is unlikely to break through in either Iowa or New Hampshire, and he is not worthy of having the third lowest odds to win the Democratic Party nomination.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Bernie Sanders’ poll numbers over the coming weeks. Sanders has been sidelined after suffering a heart attack last week, and the 78-year-old is likely to deal with questions about whether he can handle the grind of an additional year of being on the campaign trail.

Sanders has already declared that he will be at next week’s debate, but if he makes the decision to bow out, he is likely to throw his weight behind Warren. That could make Warren a sizable favorite as Sanders has been third in the polls for much of the campaign.

Pete Buttigieg is the final candidate with odds of 10-1 or less, yet it feels as if a lot of the steam is out of his campaign’s sails. Buttigieg has not been particularly impressive at any of the debates, and he is consistently polling in fifth behind Biden, Warren, Sanders, and Kamala Harris.

If Buttigieg is going to establish himself as a force to be reckoned with, he needs a solid performance at next week’s debate. He could fare well in Iowa, but he doesn’t have much of a national appeal at the moment, and that would lead to him losing big on Super Tuesday.

Get the latest political betting odds and information–follow BetOnline.ag on Twitter!

BetOnline.ag on Instagram–Follow for the latest odds, stats and information!

We’re still a little less than four months away from the very first primary, but there has been a lot…

[2

post-6813","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports
["GET
