The Jacksonville Jaguars are the Triple-A franchise for the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams’ roster currently holds three consecutive first round picks from the Jaguars; quarterback Blake Bortles, pass rusher Dante Fowler, Jr. and now cornerback Jalen Ramsey. All were Top Five selectionss from 2014-2016 and all have now traded Florida for SoCal.

LA RAMSEY AND THE LOSS OF A ‘LEGEND’
BY ADAM GREENE

Of course, the Rams gave up a haul to get Ramsey, arguably the best corner in the game. Namely two first round picks in 2020 and 2021 and a fourth rounder. It was the last of a flurry of moves for L.A. on Tuesday, who might not be done yet before the NFL’s trade deadline. In addition to Ramsey coming over, they brought in linebacker Kenny Young from the Baltimore Ravens, shipping off hot/cold corner Marcus Peters to do it. They also added former Cleveland Browns second round pick Austin Corbett in exchange for a late round pick to bolster a seriously underperforming offensive line.

Don’t be shocked to see disgruntled Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams end up in Los Angeles before the week’s out.

Did the Rams give up too much for Ramsey? If they fall off a cliff? Sure. If they stay good and end up picking No. 28 or lower (preferably, for them, at No. 32)? Then, no. Teams like the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks routinely trade out of the bottom of the first round anyway. Since Sean McVay joined the Rams as its head coach in 2017, the team hasn’t made a single first round selection. They’ve built an all-star squad because of it, via trades and by nailing later round picks. The problem is, it’s cost them offensive line depth and they’ll need to address it this offseason, regardless of where they finish at the end of this one. Hence, the real possibility you see Williams’ name pop up on your phone at some point over the next few days.

RIDING OFF INTO THE SUNSET

I hope you’re sitting down. Listen, if you’re going to need time to mourn after reading this, I get it. We all do.

Legendary quarterback and future Pro Football Hall of Fame gold jacket sewer Brock Osweiler has turned in his badge and sidearm and retired from the NFL.

I know. It’s a blow. I think we’ll all remember where we were when we heard the news.

All jokes aside, Osweiler won this thing. He made $41.4 million in his eight-year career. He has a Super Bowl ring with the 2015 Denver Broncos and he was a big reason they got there, going 5-2 as a starter in the place of an injured and less effective Peyton Manning.

Osweiler finished his career with a 15-15 record and appeared in 49 total games. He completed 59.8 percent of his passes for 7,418 yards, 37 touchdowns and 31 interceptions. He’s rich, he’s still young and healthy and is good looking enough to spend the rest of his life on television.

We should all have as “bad” a career as Brock Osweiler.

TONIGHT’S GAME

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AT DENVER BRONCOS (+3, O/U: 48.5)

The Chiefs (4-2) have lost two straight. The Broncos (2-4) have won two straight. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing. Denver has lost seven consecutive games to the Chiefs and I don’t see that streak ending tonight. CHIEFS 33, BRONCOS 24

Get the latest NFL football odds and information–follow BetOnline.ag on Twitter!

BetOnline.ag on Instagram–Follow for the latest odds, stats and information!

Well, it’s official.
