While guys like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert were among the favorites at the beginning, they’ve faded and we’re mostly down to just five guys. Here’s a look at who’s in the mix as we’ll track how the odds change over the coming weeks:

JOE BURROW, LSU
ODDS TO WIN: -125

LSU has a passing game? One of the biggest surprises of the 2019 college football season has been how they’ve been slinging it.

Burrow, the LSU quarterback, has thrown for 30 touchdowns against just four interceptions along with over 2,800 passing yards with over 200 completions. He has revolutionized the way LSU plays offense as the Tigers have not usually featured a high-powered offense with spread concepts and an aggressive vertical passing attack, but Burrow is making it work. The LSU offense has hit very few speedbumps this season, the Auburn game this past weekend being an exception.

The big moment for Burrow will be a game at Alabama on November 9 when LSU visits Alabama. The big question is whether Tua Tagovailoa will be healthy enough to play in that game and oppose Burrow. Regardless, a big game from Burrow against Alabama will keep him in the driver’s seat in this race.

JALEN HURTS, OKLAHOMA
ODDS TO WIN: +225

The Oklahoma quarterback has thrown for 21 touchdowns and only three interceptions, completing 74 percent of passes, notching over 2,400 passing yards, and doing all of this with a full month left to play in the season. Hurts has also put together 801 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. He has been an elite force for the Sooners’ prolific offense.

Hurts was hurt by a loss to Kansas State this past weekend, though, as that’s essentially knocked Oklahoma out of the College Football Playoff. However, if Burrow has a bad game against Alabama and Tua Tagovailoa is not especially impressive, Hurts will have a chance to get the top spot.

TUA TAGOVAILOA
ODDS TO WIN: +500

The runner-up in last year’s Heisman race has thrown for 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions this season, with over 2,100 yards passing, 75 percent completions, and two rushing touchdowns. He was in the driver’s seat – or at least right up there – before an ankle injury kept him out last week against Arkansas. He needs to play against LSU and he needs to play well in that game to stay in the running. If he does, he has a shot at the Heisman. If he doesn’t, Burrow becomes the shoe-in for the award.

JUSTIN FIELDS, OHIO STATE
ODDS TO WIN: +600

People weren’t sure what Ohio State would look like with Urban Meyer retiring and Dwayne Haskins moving up to the NFL. However, this team has looked as impressive as anyone in the country.

Fields has led the way, throwing for 24 touchdowns and only one interception. He also has over 1,600 passing yards, 69 percent completions and has compiled over 300 rushing yards with nine rushing touchdowns. He is very, very good, but the other three quarterbacks above him have been better. Fields has to dazzle against Penn State and lead Ohio State to an unbeaten regular season in order to have any chance. He is an outsider here.

CHASE YOUNG, OHIO STATE
ODDS TO WIN: +2500

The Ohio State pass rusher has five forced fumbles, 22 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and a whopping 13.5 sacks. He is legitimately the best defensive player in the country. However, defenders rarely win this award.

He has to continue to make a splash and hope that Burrow, Hurts and Tua all struggle down the stretch. It seems unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Get the latest college football odds and information–follow BetOnline.ag on Twitter!

BetOnline.ag on Instagram–Follow for the latest odds, stats and information!

The Heisman Trophy race is about to encounter the really big games of November and early December, which will decide…

[133

post-7375","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ncaaf
["GET
