Now the conversation with Joe Burrow is not only will he win the Heisman Trophy but will he be the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft? One step at a time, though, as Burrow still has to seal this award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nLSU quarterback has thrown for 38 touchdowns against six\ninterceptions but what is more impressive is that he\u2019s posted 15\ntouchdowns and just two picks against the four Top 10 opponents he\u2019s\nfaced. On the year, he has thrown for nearly 3,700 passing yards with\nover 265 completions, while rushing for 215 yards and three scores. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His\nlatest entry was a 32-of-42 effort for 489 yards and five touchdowns\nwith two interceptions this past Saturday against the Ole Miss\nRebels. Burrow did make a few mistakes, but he still led a dazzling\noffensive display in which LSU\u2019s offense gained roughly 700 yards\nand the Tigers scored 58 points on the road in an SEC night game.\nBurrow\u2019s stock continues to soar. He will likely need to lose at\nleast one game if not two in the remaining weeks of the season to\nlose this award. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nOklahoma quarterback has thrown for 28 touchdowns and five\ninterceptions, completing 73 percent of passes, notching over 3,000\npassing yards. Hurts has also put together 983 rushing yards and 15\nrushing touchdowns. Hurts improved his odds because he came up with a\nso-called \u201cHeisman moment\u201d against Baylor this past weekend.\nOklahoma trailed 28-3 and then 31-10 at halftime. Hurts fumbled twice\nto put his team in trouble, but he led a great comeback thanks to a\n24-point second half. That is the kind of inspiring performance\nHeisman voters pay attention to. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hurts\nincreased his chances of being the second-place finisher in the\nballoting when the award is revealed on December 14th<\/sup>.\nHe\u2019ll be the player next up if Burrow stumbles in any way, shape or\nform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nOhio State quarterback has thrown for 31 touchdowns and only one\ninterception, over 2,150 passing yards and 69 percent completions.\nFields has compiled over 375 rushing yards with 10 rushing\ntouchdowns. Any other year and he\u2019d be the front runner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The big key with Fields is that he plays Ohio State\u2019s most high-profile opponents in the next two weeks: No. 9 Penn State this week and then No. 12 Michigan the week after. This is Fields\u2019 time to shine and make an argument that he is just as deserving as Burrow.
