This week, we\u2019re taking a look back at some of the most freezing cold takes from the past seven days and enjoying just how wrong some of these predictions were. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>JOE MIXON GUARANTEES PLAYOFF BERTH NEXT SEASON (12\/30\/18)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Joe Mixon guarantees playoffs for Bengals next season <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/i2dVBPS9ul\">https:\/\/t.co\/i2dVBPS9ul<\/a><\/p>&mdash; The Bengals Wire (@TheBengalsWire) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheBengalsWire\/status\/1079596901341806592?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 31, 2018<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cincinnati Bengals started their 2018 campaign 4-1 and were 5-3 before the wheels came off the bandwagon. They ended the year with losses in seven of their final eight games \u2013 partially due to injuries like the one to starting quarterback Andy Dalton. A day after the season ended, 1000-yard rusher Joe Mixon declared that the Bengals would make the playoffs in 2019. While they\u2019re technically still in the race (haven\u2019t mathematically been eliminated), they are the only winless team in the NFL at 0-10. Needless to say, his prediction was a tad off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS BREAKOUT HOT TAKE (8\/2\/19) <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&quot;I see the Gamecocks as one of the biggest surprises of this season&#8230;we&#39;re talking about a potential 10 win team. Bratton joined the Paul Finebaum show early in August to make a bold prediction: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I see the Gamecocks as one of the biggest surprises of this season\u2026we&#8217;re talking about a potential 10-win team. They&#8217;ve been building toward it.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Carolina did earn a credit win by beating No. 4 Georgia \u2013 they\u2019re the only team that has beaten them \u2013 but unfortunately that\u2019s just one of four wins for the team. At 4-7, they\u2019re nowhere near the 10 wins necessary to make this bold prediction come true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>THE \u201cRAIDERS WILL BE BAD\u201d HOT TAKES (9\/7\/19) <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">They won\u2019t sniff 5 wins. In September, he \u2013 among many others \u2013 made the bold prediction that the Oakland Raiders would be a failure in 2019. \u201cThey won\u2019t sniff 5 wins. You are high,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This old take has been exposed quite well as the Raiders have already won six of their first 10 games and are pushing for a playoff spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>KANSAS JAYHAWKS MAKING A BOWL GAME? He was so high on the Kansas Jayhawks and the Les Miles hiring that he predicted the team would make a bowl game this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering the Jayhawks had won a total of six games in their previous four seasons combined, it was a bold prediction. On FOX Sports 1\u2019s Lock It In, he was pretty adamant that he thought Deshaun Watson and company would leave Baltimore not only covering but winning outright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As it turns out, the Texans flopped miserably, losing 41-7.
