We were right on\nwhen we told you to avoid certain road favorites in Week 12 of the\nNFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers failed to cover the number and\nneeded to come from behind to beat winless Cincinnati last week, and\nthe Oakland Raiders were pummeled by the New York Jets. Both teams\nwere favored by too many points per the NFL\nbetting odds<\/a>, and road teams that were favored went\n1-3 ATS last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only wrong idea\nin this column was to doubt Buffalo. The Bills cruised to a win over\nDenver, and they showed the world they were for real after going into\nDallas and beating the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. We won\u2019t be\ndoubting Buffalo again anytime soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GAMES TO AVOID IN WEEK 13<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS +6 AT BALTIMORE RAVENS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the\npremier games of Week 13. Many will be looking to bet on this early\nafternoon tilt between two of the best teams in the league, and more\nthan a few bettors will be scratching their heads at this line. San\nFrancisco is tied with New England as the team with the best record\nin the league at 10-1, but the 49ers almost a touchdown underdog on\nthe road per the NFL\nbetting lines<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we saw with Oakland last week, part of the reasoning behind this line is the difficulty West Coast teams typically have playing across country at 1 p.m. ET. However, the more important factor in this line is Lamar Jackson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackson has been impeccable, and he is the current favorite to be named the NFL MVP<\/a> at the end of the season. No team has figured out a way to stop him because of his athleticism, and San Francisco will be hard pressed to do the same on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GREEN BAY PACKERS -6.5 AT NEW YORK GIANTS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Packers are the\nmost popular pick this week, and they are the most popular teaser\npick too. Everyone is calling for Green Bay to bounce back after last\nweek\u2019s humiliating loss to San Francisco, as the Giants have lost\nseven in a row. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are some\nthings working in the Giants\u2019 favor though. New York has lost four\nof its last five by a single score, and Daniel Jones hasn\u2019t been\nterrible as a rookie. Jones has been inconsistent like most rookies\nare, but he hasn\u2019t buried this team with mistakes either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green Bay doesn\u2019t\nappear to be the team it was earlier in the year either. They have\nlost their last two home games by substantial margins, and there are\nundertones of locker room tension once again. Matt LaFleur and Aaron\nRodgers aren\u2019t seeing eye to eye according to reports, and that has\nhelped submarine this offense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not having Bryan\nBulaga available for this game is a substantial loss for Green Bay\ntoo. Bulaga is one of the best offensive tackles in the game, and\nthis offense\u2019s production went in the tank without him last week.\nEven if he suits up, he\u2019ll be limited, and the Giants could exploit\nmismatches along the offensive line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW YORK JETS -3 AT CINCINNATI BENGALS<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The red hot Jets are\none of the most heaviest bet teams in Week 13. Gang Green have won\nthree straight games after teetering on the ropes through the first\nhalf of the season, so many believe they will continue to turn things\naround. Sam Darnold is playing great football according to the stat\nsheet, but if you\u2019re watching him, you know he has made some very\niffy throws too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cincinnati have the\nworst pass defense in the country, so that should be exploited by\nDarnold. The second-year quarterback has played well over the last\nfew weeks, but he is still checking down underneath way too much.\nLe\u2019Veon Bell has been a massive disappointment as a running back,\nsomewhat forcing Darnold\u2019s hand, but this is exactly what teams\nwant to do to Darnold. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Dalton is back under center for Cincinnati, so the Bengals will be more competitive than they were under rookie Ryan Finley. Dalton is mocked nonstop by some websites for his mostly lackluster play, but he is certainly better than the other two options on the Bengals. He has the tools to pull off a surprising win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
