Only seven teams have a chance of hearing their names called by the Selection Committee, and four teams are fighting for one spot as Ohio State, LSU, and Clemson are essentially in the playoff already as the only remaining unbeaten teams in the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Georgia,\nOklahoma, Utah, and Baylor are vying for that last spot. The Bulldogs\ncontrol their own destiny as a win over LSU in the SEC Championship\nGame would grant them a spot in the CFP. That would make life easy\nfor the committee, as Georgia has been the best one-loss team in the\nland for most of the year. A Georgia loss would complicate matters\nthough, especially if Utah and Oklahoma both won. Those two teams\nboth have strong cases to earn the last spot or the other, and both\nteams are favored by at least a touchdown according to the\nChampionship\nWeek betting odds<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After easily\nbeating Michigan in The Game last week, the odds\non Ohio State to win the national championship<\/a> have\nfallen even further. Ohio State has the No. 4 offense in the country\nand the No. 2 defense in the country according to SP+, and this team\nhas been the most complete team in the nation throughout 2019. All\ntheir wins have been by at least 11 points, and they are heavy\nfavorites against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ohio State easily\nbeat Wisconsin the first time around, and a second big win would\nprobably ensure that the Buckeyes were the No. 1 seed in the CFP.\nThat\u2019s important as there are three teams that are head and\nshoulders above everyone else this year, and there is a significant\nstep down in terms of quality once you get to No. 4. That\u2019s the\nreason why Ohio State\u2019s national title odds continue to drop, while\nLSU\u2019s have remained relatively even.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of LSU,\nthe Tigers are now the third favorite to win it all. They were\nconsidered to have a better chance at winning the title than Clemson\nfor all of November, but the defending national champions moved in\nfront of them in this\nweek\u2019s betting odds<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s\ninteresting considering what we saw from LSU last week. The Tigers\ndismantled Texas A&M on the bayou in their season finale,\nthrottling the Aggies 50-7. Joe Burrow locked up the Heisman Trophy\nwith the performance, but the Bayou Bengals have a tougher test than\nthe other two favorites tomorrow. LSU must face Georgia, and the\nTigers are only -7 against the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clemson has been\nunderrated all year, but the defending champions went 12-0 and\ncruised to their fifth straight ACC Atlantic title. They are massive\n28-point\nfavorites over Virginia<\/a> in their bid to win five\nstraight ACC titles on Saturday, and their recent dominance has many\nbelieving Clemson can win it all once again with superstar\nquarterback Trevor Lawrence at the helm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since squeaking\npast North Carolina in late September, Clemson has taken things to\nanother level. The Tigers have beaten every opponent by at least 30\npoints, and that run has corresponded with a drop in their CFP\nbetting odds. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if Georgia\nbeats LSU on Saturday to win the SEC, the Bulldogs have a tough road\nahead. They will likely earn the No. 4 seed with a win, pitting them\nagainst Ohio State. Georgia would be a sizable underdog to Ohio\nState, and the Bulldogs would probably be an underdog against LSU or\nClemson in the national championship. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either Oklahoma or Baylor will be eliminated from title contention on Saturday afternoon. The Big 12 champion will still need some help to make the CFP though as both teams have a worse case than Georgia to earn the No. 4 seed. Baylor would not be voted in ahead of Utah either considering the Utes are No. 5 in the current CFP rankings, so the Bears need to pull off the upset and have two other results go their way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
