Black Monday is traditionally the first Monday after the regular season comes to an end and that’s usually the day where several coaches get canned. BetOnline.ag has posted odds on how many coaches will get fired and the over-under is set at 3.5.

GARRETT, QUINN AND KITCHENS ON THE HOT SEAT

If this bet is to hit the over, the first coach that has to get canned is Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett. The Cowboys have fallen way short of expectations this season and if he can’t even lead them to the playoffs in a year where they had Super Bowl aspirations, this is likely the end of the line for him. Although the Cowboys have mostly been reliable throughout his tenure, they’ve never had a lot of playoff success. On top of that, they’ve been embarrassed multiple times this season and that’s not something Jerry Jones is going to stand for much longer.

As for Dan Quinn, he might end up keeping his job. The Falcons started the year 1-7 but they’ve actually won five of seven and have a good opportunity to end the year winning six of eight. Maybe that gives him one more year to right the ship.

Meanwhile, Freddie Kitchens of the Cleveland Browns looks like he could be a goner. The Browns were the favorite in the AFC North in the preseason but they’re not even going to finish with a winning record. With a complete lack of discipline and a litany of issues ranging from misusing Odell Beckham Jr. to him allegedly looking for a trade to the team being humiliated several times this season, he could get canned.

WILL THERE BE SURPRISES?

Part of why Black Monday might be a bit dulled this season is because a couple of head coaches have already been canned. The Washington Redskins let go of Jay Gruden and the Carolina Panthers fired Ron Rivera midseason. The question is whether or not we’ll see some surprises?

The Denver Broncos were supposedly considering firing first-year coach Vic Fangio earlier in the year but Denver has shown some promise under rookie quarterback Drew Lock, winning three of four. Coaches like Pat Shurmur of the New York Giants, Anthony Lynn of the Los Angeles Charger and Doug Marrone of the Jacksonville Jaguars are also on the hot seat. Outside of maybe Adam Gase with the New York Jets, we’re probably not going to see too much out of left-field.

In terms of the prop, 3.5 seems like a reasonable number to get over. If Garrett gets the ax along with Kitchens, that leaves just two names needed to get to the over. Lynn and Shurmur could also be out of jobs, which would push this to four coaches and hit the over.

Get the latest NFL football odds and information–follow BetOnline.ag on Twitter!

BetOnline.ag on Instagram–Follow for the latest odds, stats and information!

The 2019 regular season is about to come to a conclusion but for a number of head coaches, it could…

[129

post-8270","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl
["GET
