Once again, we were wrong about the games to avoid in Week 16. While Houston ended up getting a scare from Tampa Bay, the Texans pushed and that was the only blemish last week. Miami, Denver, and Kansas City all easily covered, and popular plays had another good week. Let\u2019s keep that going for one more weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minnesota is the most popular play of the week with 80 percent of bettors backing the Vikings. Chicago has had a dismal season, and the Bears are 4-11 ATS per the NFL betting odds<\/a>. However, the Bears have a decent shot of closing out their season with a win due to Minnesota\u2019s injury situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Vikings won\u2019t have Dalvin Cook or Alexander Mattison available for this game in all likelihood. Both Cook and Mattison were held out of last week\u2019s game against Green Bay due to injury, and Minnesota will want its running backs ready to go in the playoffs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n There is nothing to play for but pride for Minnesota. The Vikings are locked into the No. 6 seed, and the Bears want to end this season with a win to move to 8-8. Chicago is likely to play its starters for longer, and this same Bears team easily handled the Vikings in Solider Field earlier this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Colts crushed the Jaguars last month, and Jacksonville is in a tailspin. The Jaguars have lost six of their last seven, and this team wants to go ahead and start to rebuild after the disastrous Tom Coughlin era. Many players on the team now won\u2019t be here in 2020, as this defense is just a shell of the elite unit it was two years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We haven\u2019t seen good play out of Indianapolis these last two months either though. The Colts are 2-6 in their last eight games, and the two teams they beat were disasters in Carolina and Jacksonville. Indy has also lost to Miami and Tampa Bay though, as Jacoby Brissett has gotten worse as the season has gone along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The sharp money is on Indianapolis in this game as the NFL betting line<\/a> has moved down even though 78 percent of bets have come in on the Colts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many bettors are jumping on the chance to take Buffalo at home laying less than a field goal per the NFL betting odds<\/a> against the New York Jets. The Bills are locked into the No. 5 seed though, and they have no real incentive to play their starters for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sean McDermott has indicated as much for the Bills. This is only Buffalo\u2019s second playoff appearance of the 2000s, and the Bills are looking for their first postseason victory in more than two decades. Winning this game would be nice, but it\u2019s not a priority for Buffalo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It appears to be a big deal for the Jets though. New York has one of the most underrated defenses in the league, and the Jets have come out and said they will be motivated to finish strong. Gang Green has been solid with Sam Darnold at quarterback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Cowboys are always a popular team to bet on, and this week is no different. Dallas is a double-digit favorite on the football betting line<\/a> against Washington, as the Cowboys can still win the NFC East with a victory and a Philadelphia road loss to the New York Giants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n These games are starting at the same time, so there is sure to be plenty of scoreboard watching in the Metroplex. If Philadelphia takes a quick lead, that could dishearten Dallas though, leading to an uninspired performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Washington hasn\u2019t lost by more than 10 points in five straight weeks.
