Shurmur is 9-22 with the Giants and 19-45 as a head coach. There isn\u2019t much to suggest he\u2019s the one to get New York back in the Super Bowl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The case for keeping him is continuity. Since Tom Coughlin\u2019s departure after the 2015 season, the Giants have already had two coaches. Considering Coughlin held the job for 12 seasons, that\u2019s not ideal. The thought of three coaches in five years could convince the Giants to keep Shurmur around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Cowboys, in all likelihood, will fail to win what is the weakest division in the league. Jason Garrett\u2019s team is loaded with talent, but they continue to underachieve. He is routinely mocked by fans and media alike. His owner isn\u2019t standing up for him. He started coaching the team in 2010 and his highlights include three playoff trips that ended in the Divisional round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, it would certainly be a surprise if the Cowboys bring Garrett back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
