Pai Gow Poker
Pai Gow Poker Overview
Pai Gow Poker is the American version of a popular and traditional Asian game. This modern version is played with a standard 52-card deck as well as a joker.
How to play Pai Gow Poker
Start the game by placing a bet. Once all bets are made, players are dealt 7 cards and must make two poker hands. These two poker hands must be a two-card poker hand and a standard five-card poker hand.
Form these poker hands by making sure your five-card hand has higher cards that the two-card hand. A foul is referred to a two-card poker hand with higher cards. This means you automatically lose. Once your poker hands are in order, place them on the table with the two-card hand in front and the five-card hand at the back. Your aim is to win both hands against the banker. During Pai Gow the banker can be one of the players or the dealer.
Your hand, and those of the other players at the table, is compared to the banker’s hand. If your hand is better than the banker’s, you will win. If only one hand is better, the round is a draw or push. If the banker’s hand is better than yours, you lose the bet.
