2015 NBA Basketball Betting – Picks For Games On Saturday, December 19

Posted by Craig Parsons on 12/18/2015 8:55:22 PM

The NBA season continues on Saturday, one week before Christmas. A few teams are trying to make their way to the top of the conference standings and have a reasonable chance of doing so. One team in particular wants some revenge.

Los Angeles Lakers @ Oklahoma City Thunder – Saturday, December 19

Betting experts have to think that Oklahoma City is in good position to win this game by a lot. The Lakers are beginning a road trip, and that could be problematic for them. The Lakers have begun to play their younger players, such as Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell, for more minutes. Russell is likely to blossom as a player in due time, but in the short term, playing rookies means “on the job training,” which should in turn create a lot of struggles for the Lakers. Oklahoma City lost a close game at Cleveland on Thursday night. The Thunder just played a very good team on the road. Being angry about losing is one reason to take the Thunder, but the bigger reason is that they just played a good team. Playing a bad team will be easy by comparison. Take Oklahoma City.

Betting Pick: Oklahoma City

Chicago Bulls @ New York Knicks – Saturday, December 19

This is a game the Bulls should win. The Knicks had to fight all 48 minutes to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves at home earlier in the week. New York is certainly better than last season, but last season was an absolute disaster. The Knicks are still struggling and still under .500 in the Eastern Conference. Chicago has not been overwhelmingly good this season, but the Bulls have won a lot of close games and translated that success into a strong overall record. They are right there in the race for the second playoff spot in the East, which would lead to home-court in the first two rounds of the playoffs, not just one. Chicago has enough depth and size in the frontcourt that it should be able to win the battle of the boards and limit New York’s number of possessions. Don’t expect the Bulls to run away with this game, but they should be able to win in the end against a New York defense which is not all the way where it needs to be at this point in the season.

Betting Pick: Chicago

Los Angeles Clippers @ Houston Rockets – Saturday, December 19

The Clippers lost at home to the Rockets very early in the season. Los Angeles suffered some injures in early November and struggled at lot as it tried to wipe away the ugly memory of its playoff loss to the Rockets last spring. Yet, that early season setback at home got in the way of the Clippers’ plans. Now they return to Houston in what should be a very emotional game. Houston center Dwight Howard has been mentioned in trade talks, and the Clippers – while improving – have not yet been able to do enough to show that they belong in the same league of contenders as Golden State and San Antonio. The Clippers might not deserve the benefit of the doubt, but Houston deserves that benefit even less. Take Los Angeles.

Betting Pick: Los Angeles Clippers
