NBA Basketball Betting: Daily Picks for Tuesday December 8

Posted by The Wiesguy on 12/7/2015 9:00:34 PM

The Warriors excellence gets tested once again on the road at Indiana. The Pacers should be able to push Golden State but I am not seeing an end to their current run. That sets up the theme of this post which is to look hard at the visitors in all three profiled games on Tuesday night. That where the values will be.

Game 1: Golden State Warriors vs. Indiana Pacers

With a couple of wins over the weekend the Warriors have now pushed their awesome start to 22-0. They nearly got clipped by the Raptors Saturday but dominated at Brooklyn on Sunday. They are still on the road facing an Indiana team that is playing some good basketball - they had won six in a row (seven of eight) before losing the last two to close their road trip. In Paul George they have the kind of player that can just go off - he is third in the NBA in scoring after netting 48 points in their most recent loss.

Prediction: Look for the Warriors to be favourites in the -7, -8 range. The Pacers play smaller this season so they should match up pretty well but I don’t like teams that are going to try and beat Golden State at their own game. Take the Warriors.

Game 2: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Memphis Grizzlies

OKC is a good team but the number tell you they struggle on the road. Yes they have the most lethal duo in the game in Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook but they are only 3-5 as the visitor this year. Memphis is looking to remind them of that fact for the second time this season. In the first the Thunder were able to get the pace they wanted but came up short without Durant. They are hoping he can be the difference in a game that saw the Grizzlies explode for 43 fourth quarter points.

Prediction: That game was Memphis -2.5 so you can expect a little more this time around. With KD in the lineup I don’t mind taking the Thunder as a dog in this one even though the trend data is not very supportive.

Game 3: Utah Jazz vs. Sacramento Kings

The Jazz enter this one as a .500 team. They are so close to being more than that though as evidenced by their close calls against the best teams in the league. Those wins are nice but now they have to start making sure they beat all of the teams they are supposed to, not just some of them. This game falls into that category even on the road. The Kings are bad and their strength, the inside play of Demarcus Cousins, can certainly be countered. The Jazz should win definitively.

Prediction: You should plan to bet the Jazz here unless the line is something stupid like -10 on the road. I am picturing something like -6, a number should be very comfortable for this group. That third ranked defense should travel.
