2015 NBA Basketball Betting – Picks For Games On Wednesday, December 16

Posted by Craig Parsons on 12/16/2015 3:08:21 AM

The NBA season moves along with various teams trying to set the same standard of the leading ballclubs in the Association. In these three games, you’ll see an opportunity for a team to make a move

Boston Celtics @ Detroit Pistons – Wednesday, December 16

Betting experts have to be aware of an amazing statistic which is on the line in this game. The Celtics are 10-0 in the second half of a back-to-back on the road, dating back to the All-Star break last season. That’s very improbable, but Boston has managed to pull it off. The Celtics just don’t allow themselves to get down when they lost the first half of a back-to-back. They go to another arena the next night and are fresh enough to be able to win. One underappreciated aspect of all this is that when the Celtics play the first half of a back-to-back, it is usually against a good team. This prepares the Celtics for the second half of that back-to-back, which is often against a team which isn’t as strong. Last Friday, the Celtics played the first half of a back-to-back against the Warriors. In this case, Boston plays Cleveland on Tuesday in the first half of a back-to-back. Detroit on Wednesday will be easier by comparison. Ride with the Celtics and their streak in this game.

Betting Pick: Boston +2

Dallas Mavericks @ Indiana Pacers – Wednesday, December 16

This is a game the Pacers should win. Dallas is an up-and-down team right now. The Mavericks are struggling to find consistency. After being really good in the first four weeks of the season, the Mavs have not been as threatening over the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have gotten stronger as the season has moved along. Paul George is playing the way his teammates expect him to play. He’s the best player on the floor in this game. Indiana has home-court advantage, and it has the speed on defense which should be able to contain Dallas point guard Deron Williams, who is not as explosive with his first step as he used to be. Indiana should be able to win this game with its defense. Dallas probably doesn’t have the depth needed to keep pace with the Pacers.

Betting Pick: Indiana

Memphis Grizzlies @ Chicago Bulls – Wednesday, December 16

The Grizzlies have a lot of weaknesses, and especially on the perimeter. The Grizzlies need that off guard and that small forward which can supplement Mike Conley at the point and then the inside bruisers, Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. The Bulls certainly know where to attack the Grizzlies. They are fully aware that if Derrick Rose plays great, they should win. However, is that going to be the case in the face of Conley’s defense? The Grizzlies can beat up the Bulls on the boards with Z-Bo and Marc Gasol. The duel of Marc and Pau Gasol will be closely watched, but the Memphis brother has the advantage over the Chicago brother right now. Take the Grizzlies here because of their defense, size, rebounding, and better efficiency near the basket.

Betting Pick: Memphis +3.5
