2015 NBA Basketball Betting – Picks For Games On Friday, December 25

Posted by Craig Parsons on 12/24/2015 11:51:50 PM

The NBA season continues on Christmas Day. The expanded Christmas schedule involves five games from noon Eastern time until late at night, covering more than 12 hours. Which teams will make their holiday workday worth it, and which ones will have a wasted day at the office?

Chicago Bulls @ Oklahoma City Thunder – Friday, December 25

Betting experts have to think that Oklahoma City is in good position to take control of this game. The Chicago Bulls have lost three games in a row and have looked very bad in the process. One of their losses was caused by playing the second half of a back-to-back the night after losing a game in four overtimes. However, the Bulls shouldn’t play a four-overtime game against the Detroit Pistons. They should be able to beat Detroit in no more than one overtime, especially at home. The Bulls never should have put themselves in position to drop consecutive games. The Bulls then had a chance to redeem themselves on Monday at home against the Brooklyn Nets, but they lost. Derrick Rose scored just eight points. This team is reeling from Jimmy Butler’s criticism of coach Fred Hoiberg. It caught the Bulls off guard, and they are struggling to regroup. Oklahoma City, on the other hand, has won nine of its last 10 and is playing great basketball. With the Thunder at home, this could get ugly for Chicago.

Betting Pick: Oklahoma City -9

New Orleans Pelicans @ Miami Heat – Friday, December 25

This is a game the Heat should win, and what’s more is that they’re going to be angry when they take the court. The Heat just lost a game to Detroit in which the offense played poorly for most of the game. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh both got good looks at the basket in the final seconds, but could not convert, as the Heat dropped a game to Detroit and showed that they haven’t turned the corner. Miami will want to erase that game with a strong performance here. New Orleans has won three of four, but the Pelicans have played bad teams such as Portland, Denver and Utah, which are all three games below .500 or worse. Miami is a better opponent than what the Pelicans have faced, and the Heat are playing at home. Take Miami.

Betting Pick: Miami -5.5

Los Angeles Clippers @ Los Angeles Lakers – Friday, December 25

The Clippers should win this game, but will they cover the spread? Los Angeles has lost its last three games, to San Antonio, Houston, and Oklahoma City. It’s true that the NBA said Kevin Durant’s winning shot against the Clippers should not have counted, but Los Angeles could have done more things to ensure that it wasn’t victimized by a single bad call. This team has failed to develop and blend together the way head coach Doc Rivers wanted it to. The Clippers have the superstars which should be able to get enough key baskets to win, but 12 points is a lot when you consider that Kobe Bryant has been playing well, and that the Lakers usually give the Clippers a tough fight, especially earlier in the season. Take the Lakers plus the points.

Betting Pick: Los Angeles Lakers +12
