Pistons, Thunder Among The Best Bets For Tuesday’s NBA Action

Posted by on 12/28/2015 8:23:50 PM

After a busy night in the NBA on Monday the schedule is a lot lighter for Tuesday with only five games on the slate but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an excellent opportunity to make some serious money betting on those matchups. Here is a look at the best bets on the board for Tuesday’s NBA action.

Detroit Pistons @ New York Knicks

Tuesday, 7:30 PM ET

Three overtime wins have Detroit three games above .500 but they still sit outside of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and if they are going to have any shot at making the postseason they will need to start winning games on the road. The Pistons are 10-5 at home compared to 7-9 on the road but they will have an excellent opportunity to climb closer to the .500 mark as the visiting team when they visit New York on Tuesday night. The Knicks have dropped four straight and six of their last 10 overall so Detroit has to take advantage and jump on the opportunity.

Pick: Detroit

Atlanta Hawks @ Houston Rockets

Tuesday, 8:00 PM ET

Houston has won six of its last 10 to climb back to .500 on the season but they have struggled with consistency all season and a big part of that has been their terrible play at the defensive end of the floor. That will be a problem with the Hawks in town on Tuesday night as Atlanta has won six straight and is playing its best basketball of the season right now. The Hawks do an excellent job getting to the line and limiting turnovers and if the Rockets continue to struggled defensively it won’t matter how many points James Harden scores in this game as their struggles will continue.

Pick: Atlanta

Miami Heat @ Memphis Grizzlies

Tuesday, 8:00 PM ET

The Grizzlies are another Western Conference contender that has really struggled so far this season and they continue to search for an identity as a team that hasn’t lived up to expectations defensively despite their reputation as one of the stingiest teams in the NBA in that respect. Memphis has changed things up to try and generate more offense and while they are still just a game above .500 they have certainly played their best basketball at home where they are 10-6. Miami has exceeded expectations early on but the Heat have struggled on the road this year and will be in tough to beat Memphis as the visiting team in this contest.

Pick: Memphis

Milwaukee Bucks @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Tuesday, 8:00 PM ET

Golden State’s dominance has helped the Thunder fly under the radar a little bit to this point but Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are each healthy and playing at an MVP level and as long as that continues they have to be considered a championship contender. The Bucks were the team that ended the Warriors’ perfect run at home a couple of weeks ago but they have dropped six of their last 10 overall and are just 2-12 on the road this season so don’t expect another upset as Oklahoma City rolls to another lopsided victory in this one.

Pick: Oklahoma City
