Russell Westbrook (30.6 points, 10.7 assists and 10.4 rebounds) become the first player to average a triple-double since the Big O, Oscar Robertson did it during the 1961-62 season.

But it was still a tough week for the Oklahoma City star guard. He was not named a starter for the Western Conference in the NBA All-Star game. honors went to former teammate James Harden of Houston and Steph Curry of Golden State.

Westbrook is also trying to create a rivalry with the Warriors and Kevin Durant who left OKC this summer. But the Warriors keep beating OKC with ease, including a recent 20-point blowout. To make matters worse, Westbrook ran into Zaza Pachulia in that game and was floored while Pachulia stood over him. Westbrook vowed revenge.

After the game, Westbrook said to teammate Enes Kanter “don’t say what’s up to that punk a** n*****.” It is not known who Westbrook was talking to Kanter about.

What we do know is that Westbrook and Durant do not speak which has caused a stir in the Oklahoma and Bay area media.

“Whether they talk a bunch or not, I think that stuff will figure itself out,” said Thunder forward Nick Collision. “It’s for them to figure out. To me, it’s not that big of a deal. They’re each doing their thing. Life goes on. Russ is with us, Kevin is with them.”

Durant was booed whenever he touched the ball during an earlier visit at Chesapeake Energy Arena in OKC. That is likely to happen again Feb. 11 and March 20 when the two teams meet again there.

Westbrook was left out of the starting lineup mostly because of the fans all-star voting. The top two vote getters for guards got in. Curry garnered 1,848,121 votes and Harden 1,771,375. Westbrook’s total of 1,575,865 was not enough.

Westbrook was unfazed saying: “I don’t play to play in the All-Star (game). Some guys may play to play in the All-Star, but I don’t play to do that. I play to become a better player and play to win the championship. So that’s my goal.”

Fan voting makes up 50 percent of a total players score, and 25 percent is determined by player and media voting.
