The Best College Football Bets For Week 10

Posted by on 11/2/2015 8:16:35 PM

There has been no shortage of wild finishes and improbable upsets throughout the first nine weeks of the college football season but with a number of marquee matchups that the anticipation has been building for all year Week 10 has the potential to top everything that we have witnessed up until this point. Here is a look at the best bets for the most highly anticipated games of Week 10 of the college football season.

#2 Baylor @ Kansas State

Thursday, 7:30 PM ET

Star quarterback Seth Russell underwent season-ending neck surgery on Friday, which means freshman Jarrett Stidham will take over the reigns as Baylor’s starting quarterback as they try to keep their perfect season alive when they visit Kansas State on Thursday night. Stidham has put up decent numbers in a limited role as he has completed 24-of-28 passes with six touchdowns and zero interceptions and he should be able to lead the Bears to victory this weekend but don’t sleep on the Wildcats as a team that could give them a legitimate challenge and do their part to make this one of the must-watch games of the week.

Pick: Baylor

#5 TCU @ #12 Oklahoma State

Saturday, 3:30 PM ET

TCU’s senior quarterback Trevone Boykin has put himself in the Heisman conversation after throwing for 2,927 yards and 28 touchdowns while leading the Horned Frogs to an 8-0 record but it was the defense that stole the spotlight in last week’s win over West Virginia as they held the Mountaineers to just 10 points in a lopsided win. Now TCU goes on the road for an absolutely massive showdown against Oklahoma State with one team set to gain sole possession of top spot in the Big 12 at 9-0 while the other suffers their first loss of the season. The Cowboys are coming off a record-setting 70-53 win over Texas Tech and they will have an excellent shot to win this game at home if it becomes a shootout.

Pick: Oklahoma State

#4 LSU @ #7 Alabama

Saturday, 8:00 PM ET

The can’t miss SEC showdown of the year will feature Alabama looking to end LSU’s perfect season and put themselves back in the College Football Playoff conversation with a big win over the Tigers at home. However, LSU has looked absolutely dominant with star running back Leonard Fournette as the runaway Heisman favorite and he will be tough to stop regardless of where this game is played. The Tide have their own star running back to counter with in Derrick Henry an while the potential for the upset is there what we know for sure is that there will be plenty of fireworks and drama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night with LSU getting the edge based on what we have seen to this point of the season.

Pick: LSU

Minnesota @ #1 Ohio State

Saturday, 8:00 PM ET

Ohio State is still undefeated and undisputed as the top-ranked team in the country but its schedule is about to get a lot tougher although they should be able to handle Minnesota this week. Just when the quarterback situation finally seemed settled JT Barrett was cited for drinking and driving and that means Cardale Jones will get the nod again. The reality is that the Buckeyes are so deep across the board that they can still win a national championship with their second-string quarterback and while there will be other games with greater potential for upsets the allure of this game is in measuring where Ohio State is at and seeing how Jones performs as the starter once again.

Pick: Ohio State
