College Football Betting: Week 6 Rundown - Top TV Games

Posted by The Wiesguy on 10/5/2015 9:45:39 PM

Things really got shook up last week as several Top Ten teams were dealt their first losses of the season. Usually after a week with that much upheaval we get a bit of calm but this week there are lots of highly rated programs hitting the road, especially in these four televised games previewed below. Just when you think you know, you don’t.

#9 LSU Tigers vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

LSU -13

With each week the Tigers are looking more and more like the best team in the SEC. No I am not saying that watching Leonard Fournette slicing through Eastern Michigan was a surprise but this team seems to have that look of getting better every week. Plus starting with Fournette is as as good as any place to do so, given that he just set an SEC record with his third 200+ yard game in a row. South Carolina may be at home but they are not putting up much of a fight this season. They were pretty lifeless losing on the road at Mizzou against a backup quarterback last weekend. Take the Tigers here.

#15 Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns

Oklahoma -14.5

It is amazing how far the Texas program has fallen. I did not expect them to upset TCU last week but I also did not expect them to be out of the game after 10 minutes either. This week is the annual Red River Rivalry game and they have to start showing signs of life or else coach Charlie Strong might not make it through the season. Oklahoma was solid last week in dispatching previously unbeaten West Virginia. They are not national championship material but they should be able to take advantage of Texas. Everyone else is. Take the Sooners.

#4 TCU Horned Frogs vs. Kansas State Wildcats

TCU -7

For the first month of the season we were wondering if the Horned Frogs might be overrated but after last week I am pretty sure they deserve to be right where they are. I know it was only against “Texas” but they put that game away so early and it was against the Longhorns not UTEP. This week they are back on the road against K-State. A team with less physical ability then TCU, and Texas, yet they seem to be always outplay their talent. Even if they do this week keeping pace with the tremendous offense of the Horned Frogs is too much to ask. Take TCU.

Miami Hurricanes vs. #11 Florida State Seminoles

Florida State -8.5

The Hurricanes lost last week at Cincinnati, ruining what could have been a nice hype runup for this one like we used to have when these teams met in the good old days. Florida State may be 4-0 but this team hardly looks like a world beater. Even though they brought in transfer QB Everett Golson the offense has not been all that good - they only scored 38 combined points the last two weeks. The defense has been stouter than expected though and if it shows up they should be able to get a home victory against an overrated Canes team. Take FSU.
