NFL Football Betting: Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks Preview

Posted by The Wiesguy on 11/11/2015 8:28:42 PM

This is a big matchup in the NFC West. The Cardinals have a two game lead in the division at the midway point and can take even greater command with a victory here. They are playing all three of their division mates on the road in a four week span so this game sets the tone. An underreported story from the league thus far has been the mediocrity of Seattle thus far. If they are going to go on a run now would be the time to do so.

Arizona Cardinals (6-2) vs. Seattle Seahawks (4-4)
Sunday November 15

CenturyLink Field - Seattle, Washington

Seahawks -3, 45

There is no doubt that the Cards have looked better than all of the teams in the division to date. However, they have to show it over the next few weeks if they are really going to leap Seattle in the pecking order. I think they can do it because Carson Palmer is looking great and the defense is more than capable. Against a team like the Seahawks I would love for them to be a little better running the ball but Chris Johnson can be a threat. They need him to hit at least one big run to soften things up. Arizona has to stick it to the Seahawks early.

Seattle has lost two, won two and repeated that pattern to get to their 4-4 record. The defense has been very strong, third in the league in points allowed, but they have failed to change up the dynamic of the offense, even with the addition of Jimmy Graham. The question is whether they needed to because they are still among the better rushing teams in the league and Russell Wilson is still one of the more creative QBs in the league. It’s not quite clear why his interceptions are up and his TDs are down but he usually performs well in big games. The end of the Super Bowl notwithstanding.

Prediction: The Seahawks are the favourite here but the number is saying that the only edge they have is the location of the game. It can be a whopper of an advantage and even though I would like to see a changing of the guard in the division I think the Seahawks get this one by at least a touchdown. They have won four of the last five and covered every time.

Pick: Seattle -3
