NFL Football Betting: Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

Posted by The Wiesguy on 11/17/2015 8:26:56 PM

It is hard to imagine how this game wound up in the Thursday Night showcase time slot. These teams are not very good and more importantly than that, they are not very good to watch. The only thing this game has going for it is that it is a division game. It just won’have any impact on who actually wins the division though.

Tennessee Titans (2-7) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6)

Thursday November 19

EverBank Field - Jacksonville, Florida

Jaguars -2.5, 42.5

The Titans have already scrapped their coach but they have high hopes that Marcus Mariota will lead them back to respectability. That might wind up being true but it still seems a long way off. This season the offense has been pitiful against anything but the worst defenses in the league which is too bad because the defense has been pretty sturdy. To the point that if they were even mediocre on offense they might be a .500 club - they just don’t give up a lot of yards. This is a chance for this group to learn something about themselves. If they want to be good they should win. If they have given up, then look out.

The Jags are coming off a rare road win so they should be feeling better than normal. I know the Ravens are out of it but that is still a prideful team they beat last week. Like the Titans this is a young group and they are not sure exactly what they have. Blake Bortles has definitely progressed though. He is not yet efficient but he is learning to play for another down, limiting his turnovers. You can see how he might be good one day, which would open up everything else for this team. The defense has to be better though. There is no player to fear on that side.

Prediction: I guess somebody has to win this one. Whatever you do don’t bet a lot though. The winner should be Jacksonville and the price is pretty good too because i think the difference between these two is much more than this game being at EverBank, not exactly the most hostile environment. When the Jags get up it will be difficult for the Titans to play catchup. They are not built for that and the Jags can run it a little.

Pick: Jacksonville -2.5
