NFL Football Betting: Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers Preview

Posted by The Wiesguy on 12/30/2015 3:51:27 AM

My math has both of these teams going to the playoffs but this game still has a lot of meaning as it will determine who represents the NFC North and hosts a playoff game and who is the Wild Card and hits the road. The question is what will happen if one team comes out roaring. Will the other team shut it down or will they look to fight it out to the bitter end. I think it is also possible these guys play again in the first round of the playoffs but I am not 100% sure.

Minnesota Vikings (10-5) vs. Green Bay Packers (10-5)

Sunday January 3

8:30PM

Lambeau Field - Green Bay, Wisconsin

Packers -3, 48.5

Minnesota

The Vikes have won their last two in convincing fashion to get back into the playoff and division races. If they can close on a high note by winning at Green Bay than this season will have grossly exceeded expectations. Adrian Peterson has had a nice bounce back season averaging close to a 100 yards per game on the ground. The last time these two teams played though he was held in check and Teddy Bridgewater was not able to do enough in support. He got his yards but they only scored 13 points. If they can get the balance they want than they have a chance at the road upset.

Green Bay

This has been the weirdest season for Green Bay. They enter the final week locked into the playoffs but coming off an embarrassing road loss at Arizona. They have a chance to at least get momentum on their side if they can take care of business at home against the Vikings this week. They have to do something or it looks like a quick exit will be the order of the day. Given that the passing game is not what we expect look for them to pound away with Eddie Lacy. He notched 100 yards when they met earlier in the year and the weather looks like it will favour a ground heavy attack.

Prediction: You have to like the Packers...don’t you? They are at home and even an Aaron Rodgers who might not be himself this season is a better bet than Bridgewater. The only way you can bet Minnesota is if you have some special insight into them this season. I definitely do not so it’s the Packers for me. Bet it now before it moves.

Pick: Green Bay -3
