Rumors have been swirling about Bradley Beal ever since his longtime running mate, John Wall, was traded to the Houston Rockets. Beal is without a doubt one of the most talented guards in the league with some people labeling him as the best shooting guard in the Association. With all of that talent, comes a ton of trade interest from desperate teams in need of an infusion in that category. This all stems from the fact that the Wizards can’t seem to build a competitive team around him. This offseason is bound to be a hectic one for Beal as the Washington Wizards were once again bounced early from the playoffs. Would they trade him, though? Here we take a look at four of the potential landing spots for Bradley Beal this upcoming season.
Miami Heat
The Miami Heat may be in the search for a veteran guard and they certainly have the young talent to pull off a trade. They currently have Tyler Herro, Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson on their roster, which could prove to be more than enough to land Beal. Coming off of an NBA Finals appearance in 2020, the Heat struggled to bounce back in 2021 and were swept in the first round. Acquiring a guard with stellar offensive capabilities could pair nicely with Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors may be a long shot to land Beal this offseason, but the team is looking for another star. The team missed the postseason this year but should be getting Klay Thompson back to pair with Steph Curry. They may not have the roster to pull off a trade, though they certainly have enough draft capital to get them into the conversation. Adding Beal alongside Draymond Green, Curry and Thompson could instantly thrust Golden State into championship favorites.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers were in the market for a veteran point guard at the trade deadline this past season and given their playoff failures they may continue that search. Assuming Joel Embiid is untouchable in this scenario, the 76ers could very well be willing to part ways with Ben Simmons. Simmons struggled the entire postseason and didn’t show any signs of offensive improvement which is now a sign for concern. Simmons would draw quite a lot of trade value despite entering just the second season of his five-year deal. Philly may end up pulling the trigger if they are desperate enough, pairing Beal alongside Tobias Harris and Embiid to get them over that playoff hump.
New Orleans Pelicans
Just like the 76ers, the New Orleans Pelicans are coming off a frustrating season and could be looking to make some moves. Lonzo Ball was once again thrown around in trade rumors all year and the team may be just about done with him moving forward. Ball could garner quite a bit of trade interest around the league and given the amount of young talent on New Orleans, they could get a deal done. There were also reports of Zion Williamson’s family being unhappy in New Orleans right now, which could end up pushing the Pelicans to do something desperate in order to keep their superstar happy.
