UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green Parlay

Islam Makhachev is one of the biggest favorites we’ve seen in MMA this year. Makhachev is facing Bobby Green in the headline bout for this week’s UFC event, and he is at an enormous advantage over Green. Makhachev was initially supposed to face Beneil Dariush in the main event this Saturday, but Dariush had to withdraw from the bout last week with an ankle injury. Green decided to step in and take the fight although he just fought three rounds against Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 271 two weeks ago.

On Saturday, February 26, 2022, UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green will take place at UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada. The whole card will be available on ESPN+ with the prelims kicking off at 4 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 7 p.m. ET.

UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs. Green Picks

Islam Makhachev -900 vs. Bobby Green

Betting on a -900 favorite to win is a lot of chalk to swallow, but including that favorite in a parlay helps make it a more palatable wager. Islam Makhachev is certainly the right side though as he is 21-1 in his MMA career and is probably in line for a shot at UFC Lightweight Championship title holder Charles Oliveira soon. Makhachev has won nine straight fights, and his last loss was more than six years ago at his second UFC event. His last three wins have all come by submission, and they all came between March 2021 and October 2021.

Bobby Green is 29-12 in his MMA career. Green won his first four fights in the UFC, but he is 6-7-1 in the promotion since that point. He has won a few Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night bonuses, but his only win over anyone of consequence was when he beat a past-his-prime Al Iaquinta last November after Iaquinta had been out of the Octagon for over a year.

Wellington Turman -102 vs. Misha Cirkunov

This is a must-win fight for both Wellington Turman and Misha Cirkunov. Turman has lost three of his last five fights, and he only managed to win a split decision over Sam Alvey in his last bout. He was supposed to face Rodolfo Vieira at UFC 270 last month, but Vieira backed out of the fight for medical reasons. Turman jumped at the chance to replace Makhmud Muradov this week as part of the co-main event.

Cirkunov has lost five of his last seven fights. His opponents have figured out that if you can defend his takedowns, you can beat him pretty easily, and his stand-up game is not good. Cirkunov has been knocked out in the first round four times in those five losses, and his last non-submission win came all the way back in August 2015.

Priscila Cachoeira +145 vs. Ji Yeon Kim

We have seen Priscila Cachoeira lose four of her last six fights since starting her professional MMA career 8-0. She is not a ground specialist, but she can stand and trade with some of the best women in the UFC. That makes her worth a shot against Ji Yeon Kim, as Kim has lost three of her last four fights.
