Much like the Detroit Lions, the Jacksonville Jaguars took a while to get going last season, opening the year 2-6. Once they got untracked, the Jaguars were on fire, winning seven of their last nine to take the AFC South, then upsetting the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC Wild Card Round.
Counting their Wild Card win, the Jags won six straight before their season was ended by the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round by a single score.

Jacksonville Jaguars 2023 Odds
2023 AFC Championship Odds: +1200
Team Wins: Over 9.5 (-135), Under 9.5 (+105)
After last season’s playoff run, the Jaguars had a claim to be, at worst, the fourth best team in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens bringing in an actual professional football play caller in Todd Monken, might have pushed that team past them. Still, this is your presumptive AFC South Champion as the only good team in a division filled with bad teams.
But as the defending division winner, the Jags have a tougher schedule and that makes me think they won’t post a significantly better record than last year’s 9-8 finish. They get a gift to end the season in the playoff stretch, playing at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, then hosting the Carolina Panthers, before traveling to Nashville to take on the Tennessee Titans to wrap their worksheet. My win prediction surpasses the “over,” but there’s every chance quarterback Trevor Lawrence makes another leap and takes this team to new heights and Super Bowl contention.
2023-23 Win Prediction: 10-7
